Top Ten Scoreboard for February 2020

March 02, 2020

ANNOTATIONS for the FEBRUARY 2020 SCOREBOARD
  • February 10th, 2020 we said goodbye to Hitch with One Last Round. Our final Original Location closed its doors this past month and what better way to celebrate it then with a historic night of Trivia Club! On the last night, for the first time, the night ended with a tie! This would mean that one more round then planned would indeed be played at One Last Round at Hitch, with the Fighting Mongooses ending the night as one of the two winningest teams in the history of the location! Tied with 2001: A Mongoose Odyssey, at 173 points a piece would be Matthew Smith as Going Off Without a Hitch! This gives our longest-running location two teams to hold the highest score for the last month at Hitch.
  • For the first time in the history of Trivia Club, Going Off Without a Hitch attained the highest score of the month while also getting the highest score without the win on the night.
  • Also historic is the fact that half of the Monthly Top Ten took place on February 10th at Hitch, with five teams represented on the February Scoreboard from that night. Other teams included from the night include the Trusty Folks from Laramie Cigarettes, Wookiees of the Year, and Fuck Billy Zane!
  • The highest score at The Rec Room for February 2020 was the 160 points scored by Cookiefaced on February 4th at The Rec Room Roundhouse in Toronto! This would be the second win, and third highest score of the month, in a historic threepeat for Cookiefaced.
  • Cookiefaced would be the only team to appear twice on the monthly scoreboard, with that THREEPEAT win on February 11th at The Rec Room Roundhouse! That 02/11/20 win would also tie for the sixth highest score of February, with 137 points on the night!
  • The highest score at Farside for February 2020, belongs to 2 Fast 2 Curious who scored 151 points on February 5th!
  • In total, as stated above, five of the Top Ten highest scores of the month took place at Hitch on their final event, while three of the high scores came from teams competing at The Rec Room, and two of the high scores came from teams competing at Farside!
  • Outside of Toronto at The Rec Room, we saw the highest score at any Trivia Club event that fell just outside of the Scoreboard! The eleventh highest score of February belonged to We’d Win More If We Could Cheat, who scored 106 points on February 25th at The Rec Room Avalon in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador! With no relation to the Cunning Stunts, the Cunning Chimeras had the highest score at The Rec Room Deerfoot in Calgary with 104 points on February 11th. Also on February 11th, the Titans of Trivia continued their winning ways at The Rec Room South Edmonton with 103 points as the locations top score. The highest score at The Rec Room Square One was also in triple figures as Your Boy Jenny scored 100 points in Mississauga on February 4th. On February 18th, Team Hang scored the location high score at The Rec Room Masonville in London, Ontario with 80 points. Team Sask would win one for the neighboring province with a 66 point score on February 18th for the highest score at The Rec Room West Ed Mall!
  • The Questionables see their five-month appearance streak snapped this month, while both Cookiefaced and Matthew Smith make their third consecutive appearances on a Monthly Scoreboard! Making repeat appearances to begin 2020 are two of the all-time consecutive appearance holders in 2 Fast 2 Curious and the Fighting Mongooses!
  • The Mean Team, the team with the high score closest to the Scoreboard average for February of 144.4 points are 2 Fast 2 Curious who scored 151 points on February 5th at Farside!
