It was the 108th edition of Trivia Club at The Rec Room Roundhouse, as we returned to the franchise location to enjoy the game show in the round of the Three10 restaurant! We were joined by not only our regular, ready and raring competition, but also a selection of new teams as well, looking to make their mark on The Rec Room history!

 Trivia Classic  came to an end with Cookiefaced in the lead! Our returning Champions had a three and a half point lead on their returning competition, back for their first event of 2020, The Questionables! I Am Russel’s Medulla Oblongata (otherwise known as Dead on the Inside) was a point and a half back from their friendly rivals, and a half point ahead of newcomers Kyle and Friends! Kyle and Friends had a point lead on fellow newcomers I’m Not As Excited About This As I Am About… who had a point lead to our team juuust outside of the Top Five (top five top five) One Man Army +2!

 Game Show Games  saw big excitement for one team in particular, as I’m Not As Excited About This As I Am About… nabbed the TOP TEN in both Countdown Takedown and Survey Says! This gave them the lead on the field after round two, and it was a tight field indeed! Cookiefaced picked up four points in each of the two Game Show Games, while The Questionables grabbed two points in Countdown and eight in the Survey for a total of ten, and I Am Russel’s Medulla Oblongata grabbed a net of fourteen points to take the edge on Cookiefaced and The Queationables by one point and two and a half points respectively! Keeping close behind by picking up eight points in round two were Kyle and Friends!

 Tri-Pardo  saw One Man Army +2 roll for four points on the first category of round three, after coming in late for round one and unfortunately leaving round two pointless! I’m Not As Excited About This As I Am About… rolled thirteen for the second category, and Cookiefaced rolled eighteen on the third category! This meant that thirty-five points were on the line, and hitting for the triple were four of the six teams, in Cookiefaced, I Am Russel’s Medulla Oblongata, The Questionables, and Kyle and Friends! Grabbing thirteen points from the second question question were I’m Not As Excited About This As I Am About… who therefore lost a hold on the lead and One Man Army +2 were only able to pick up four points from the first question!

Leading into the  Trivia Finale  question, their was only six and a half points between I Am Russel’s Medulla Oblongata in the lead, and Kyle and Friends in fourth place! Wagering for the final question added another wrinkle with Cookiefaced going all-in, Dead on the Inside leading a point and a half on the board and The Questionables leaving two points behind. This meant that if each of these got the answer correct then I Am Russel’s Medulla Oblongata could win by half a point over Cookiefaced, while if they all got it wrong then The Questionables would have a half point lead on I Am Russel’s Medulla Oblongata! The Questionables wouldn’t necessarily win on the night however, as I’m Not As Excited About This As I Am About… only wagered ten of their points, leaving thirty-one on the board.

It would prove to be a difficult final question as well, leaving on the Championship team with the correct answer, and taking home their FIRST GOLDEN VHS CHAMPIONSHIP… were KYLE AND FRIENDS who finished the night with 104 points in Toronto! Going all-in on the blind wager and answering correctly was the only thing these newcomers had to worry about tonight. Runners-up on the night with 31 points were I’m Not As Excited About This As I Am About…
