On this past Monday at Hitch, our Home Away on the east-end finally passed Lou Dawgs in number of events as the second-longest running location in the history of Trivia Club to match its second-longest running status in days since the first event! With events mostly held twice monthly instead of every single week, it did take a little longer, but damn if it hasn't been a fun run so far at our longest-running current location, Trivia Club's only true current legacy local!

Smartly Pretty exited  Trivia Classic  with the lead, after the first round of our 131st event! It was also a return of the Matt & Pat duo that had become semi-familiar faces at Hitch since the retirement of The Electric Mayhem with the closure of Cardinal Rule! Also known as Like A Muffin Or A Beat and Lil Baby at our Black Label location, Pat & Matt had debuted as a duo under the Electric Bastards moniker! Seven points back from the leaders were our house team at Hitch, The Fighting Mongooses, and fighting the Mongooses just a half point back was our bartender Wookiee Wookiee Wah Wah! Two points behind Wookiee, were the returning REO Speedealer, followed by Farside competitors and now a robust Hitch unit, WAM Jr. rounding out the Top Five (top five, top five)!

Smartly Pretty would continue an excellent first round with a perfect round two! Yes in  Game Show Games , Matt & Pat would grab not only a TOP TEN in Countdown Takedown and Survey Says, but also prove to be the last team standing in Combo Breakdown to bring it all home for a THIRTY-THREE POINT second round! The Fighting Mongooses and WAM Jr. would still be able to gather fourteen points each in the Game Show Games, while REO Speedealer would see a nine point swing! Wookiee Wookiee Wah Wah would have the toughest second round, gaining only a point in Combo Breakdown, while newcomer to the game Senorita Nadita would prove luckier with six points in the Countdown Takedown!

This of course meant that the field would be chasing Smartly Pretty in  Tri-Pardo , and hoping at least for a slip up in the following trio of questions and at most a stumper of a Finale and a turn of fortune with points! WAM Jr. would role for four points for the first question, which would also prove to eliminate Smartly Pretty from catching up with the all-time high score of Trivia Club, while Smartly Pretty rolled eight points on the second question, eliminating their chances of breaking the all-time high at Hitch as well! Finally REO Speedealer rolled for twelve points on the third question, finishing a fun multiples of four sequence in the third round and putting twenty-four points on the line in round three! The Fighting Mongooses and Smartly Pretty would both hit that triple, keeping Smartly Pretty in the lead, but keeping those Fighting Mongooses within striking distance! Then in the  Trivia Finale , while WAM Jr, REO Speedealer, and Wookiee Wookiee Wah Wah went all-in to look and leap into that victory zone, The Fighting Mongooses left eleven points on the board, while Smartly Pretty did not wager fifteen!

It was up to that leading team to answer correctly and... that is what they did! Winning their THIRD GOLDEN VHS championship as a duo, the night's winner were Pat & Matt or... SMARTLY PRETTY! Sooooo good!

They will join the likes of PETE!, Trusty Rumpets, Tiny Tim's..., and the M. Night Shaym-Aliens!
