at The Rec Room Canada: October 15th 2019 TOP FIVE
October 18, 2019Trivia Club ONE-HUNDRED at The Rec Room Roundhouse in TORONTO with host and Trivia Club creator Russel Harder (left), saw a wide selection of regular teams, growing legacy teams, and of course some new faces! Dead on the Inside, on this night as If only Alexa was here..., would be empowered by Game Show Games and hold on through Tri-Pardo to set a new personal best score, and the top score in Canada this week with 148.5 points! Runners-up on the night, not able to threepeat unfortunately, were Cookiefaced who got the third highest score Canada-wide with 137 points! CLICK HERE FOR A FULL RECAP OF THE NIGHT!
We are now fifty-five events into our journey at LONDON ’s Masonville location, hosted by Justin Gayle (left), and it was a down to the wire kind of night, as newcomers Quiztopher Walken won the night with 138 points, just two points ahead of runners-up on the night, 50% of the time we win, everytime who finished with 136 points (still searching for their first victory in London)! Because of the runners-up in Toronto though, those scores are the second and fourth highest in Canada, all by a single point! The third place team on the night, and the Champion of London's first two events back in 2018, Artillery finished with 126 points, good for the number five score of the week across-Canada!
It was the end of the "MrGameShow" era at MISSISSAUGA ’s Square One location of The Rec Room! Yes, our host "MrGameShow" Christopher Colbourne (right) alongside his co-host (and photographer) Betty Buttons, on this twenty-first edition of Trivia Club in Mississauga, are finishing their run with us! We wish them all the best in their future endeavors! For this farewell event for our host, Quiztopher Nolan would win against a competitive field with a 122 point night, just four points outside of the Canada-wide Top Five! Runners-up with 60 points were The Sh(rec)taculars, while regulars such as Tequila Mockingbird and former winners Hot Salad were bitten by the Finale question! You can welcome our new host at The Rec Room Square One, Jeewan Gill on the 22nd of October!
At the fourth event at The Rec Room Avalon in ST. JOHN'S with host Russell Cochrane (bottom right), we had what is still a rare occurrence at Trivia Club even after so many events... a tie! At the end of the night it was 92 points a piece between Sundunces and Have Your Kids Spayed and Neutered! So a Box Office Tie-Breaker was used... and winning on the night were Sundunces! Well done to all!
The South Commons in EDMONTON hosted by Ed Childs (not pictured), win this week's Battle of Edmonton, on their twenty-first event as Sawing Drunk scored 72 points to win the night over a competitive field that had had top four teams no more then twelve points apart, and returning repeat winners Operation Smoke Show being left pointless on the Finale!
