The best way to end July at The Rec Room Roundhouse was with a good mix of teams in The Hall for our 89th event, a wonderful collection of returning teams, long-time competitors, new team mates, and all new faces! On the night were also able to give out all kinds of swag for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming comedy Good Boys! So when all was said and done, who would win their milestone Golden VHS on this Tuesday night?

 Trivia Classic  came to an end with the Cunning Stunts returning to The Rec Room to take the lead! Trivia Club’s most appearingest team was making their 192nd appearance at Trivia Club but their first at The Rec Room since the beginning of 2018 at our 15th event! Eight points behind were the M. Night Shaym-Alien associates, Varsity Clues in second place after the first round! In third were Cookiefaced, making their 22nd appearance, and with a one point lead on newcomers Stood Up! Stood Up had themselves a point advantage on the late coming newbies, Last Minute to round out the Top Five (top five top five)! Finally, Banks2 rounded out the field with half a point less then twenty points after the first!

 Game Show Games  then saw Last Minute grab the TOP TEN in Countdown Takedown, while Cookiefaced nabbed eight points, Stood Up took six points, Banks2 four points! Then in Survey Says, Cookiefaced grabbed the TOP TEN and the lead, even after Cunning Stunts added four points, while Varsity Clues kept close by with an eight point answer, and Last Minute notched two points!

This led to  Tri-Pardo , which saw Cookiefaced roll for fourteen on the first category, Last Minute roll for nineteen points on the second category, and Varsity Clues roll for eleven points on the third category! This meant a near traditional forty-four points were on the line for the third round! Cookiefaced added to their lead in the third round after gaining thirty combined points from the second and third questions, while the Cunning Stunts gained the next most points from the second question’s nineteen point haul! Gaining eleven points were Stood Up and Banks2 while Varsity Clues grabbed nineteen points from the second question but lost fourteen points on the first!

This meant that heading into the  Trivia Finale  it was Cookiefaced with the lead, while the Cunning Stunts were twelve and a half points back, and Varsity Clues were in third, though by just a point and a half point Stood Up! With wagering before the last question, Last Minute only put eight points on the line, while Varsity Clues went in the other direction and left five points on the table, and Cunning Stunts went all-in, while Cookiefaced chose not to wager something of safety point, as instilled by their recent one point loss to The Questionables earlier in the month!

Ultimately, only two teams would answer the last question correctly! The runners-up were the unheralded Last Minute, who finished the night with 46 points! Winning their FIFTH GOLDEN VHS on the night, the newest members of the Five Timers Club, and the fourth team to win five at The Rec Room… COOKIEFACED! With their first win since April 30th, it took Cookiefaced 323 days total to win their five Golden VHS tapes, which is actually 20 days faster then the Cunning Stunts! Additionally the Cunning Stunts had won five in nineteen appearances though, while the fifth win happened on the twenty-second appearance for Cookiefaced! Cookiefaced also set a new personal high score, crossing the Sesquicentennial Mark with 151 points on the night!
