 I t was a special night at the Original Home of Trivia Club, Cardinal Rule! The crowd was ready and raring to go and the atmosphere was electric as one team looked to have a perfect night... while others were simply looking for a golden ol' time, and as always some teams were more successful then others.
The first round of Trivia Classic was the beginning of a memorable night for the M. Night Shaym-Aliens who scored 50 points in the first frame! The Century Club members were eight and a half points ahead of Last Place Team, who were themselves making their twentieth consecutive appearance at Cardinal Rule. Also, it was Jarrod's birthday! Happy Birthday! In third place after Classic were Trivial Knowledge, who held a two and a half point lead on newcomers We Are All Sarah! The Sarahs had a five point lead on the returning Peal from Sales, back for the summer, and the Sarahs also had a six point lead on their co-conspirators On Est Magnifique! Nothing like a friendly battle within the fray!

Countdown Takedown then brought further momentum the way of the M. Night Shaym-Aliens, when not were the Shaym-Aliens the only team not to go over in our first Game Show Game... but they proved right on the money with their number and grabbed a rare FIFTEEN POINTS as a result! In Survey Says this was followed up with the M. Night Shaym-Aliens grabbing the TOP TEN with the third guess! Also grabbing points were We Are Sarah, Pearl from Sales, and On Est Magnifique! This assured that these teams would not be blanked in Game Show Games because Combo Breakdown proved just as unkind as the Takedown question, as Trivial Knowledge and Last Place Team were left pointless in round two, while the M. Night Shaym-Aliens continued their spectacular night with a sweep of the Game Show Games as the last Combo team standing, with FOUR POINTS for their team!

If anything was hindering their perfect night up to this point, it was the points up for grabs... as in Tri-Pardo when the Shaym-Aliens continued their momentum forward by hitting for the triple and getting all three questions correct, but at the same time gaining only twenty-six points in total, the least amount of points so far in this Ico Era of Trivia Club! Yes, the first question was worth four points, while the second question had nine points attached to it, and the third question had thirteen points! Still, all points are well earned! On Est Magnifique grabbed twenty-two points, bringing them into a late second place position, thanks to correct second and third questions and an incorrect first question! Grabbing the first two questions for thirteen points were Pearl from Sales and Trivial Knowledge, while Last Place Team picked up nine points and stayed just half a point back from the newcomers Magnifique in third, while We Are All Sarah picked up five points!

Yes, heading into the Finale it a tale of two outcomes, the known and the unknown. The M. Night Shaym-Aliens could reach 210 points in doubling up on the last question, or they could wager nothing the win the night out right. Of course, as confident as they had been on their exceptional night... you never known what the other teams have, where they stand. And when you have the chance to get past two hundred points... don't you take it? The field on the other side of the coin was incredibly tight. Before the last question, between second and sixth, five points separated five teams. With wagering, a few things locked into place. We Are All Sarah bet against the field, leaving the most on the table. Leaving one and two points on table respectively, Last Place Team and On Est Magnifique! took away all the air that lay in between the two teams... and opened up a chance that they would tie at 100 points each. And the M. Night Shaym-Aliens? They would go all in, and look to join the top five all-time high score board at Cardinal Rule!

Final questions are never easy, of course, even if they first appear to be... or are deceptively simple, in their own way. And so it was, that the M. Night Shaym-Aliens would cross out the right answer and go in the other direction, ending a Nearly Perfect Night in last place! One other team would get tripped up in the Finale, and it would just happen to be one of the two teams who would have otherwise finished in first place, giving the night a tie to break! On Est Magnifique! would also zig when they could have zagged, finishing the night in fifth and freeing up a truly unexpected result to the night...

A birthday present for Jarrod, thanks to all the wrong cards for the right teams, also meant that LAST PLACE TEAM would win their TENTH Golden VHS on the night! Yes, with 100 points, they would join the Ten-Timers Club and be the twelfth team to do so! Also, it's their first repeat win since their first two wins!
