 O ctober brought us our sixth edition of Trivia Club at The Rec Room, putting The Hall to the test to see who would walk away with not only a bunch of wonderful prizes from The Trophy Case, but also the Golden VHS! It was a wonderful collection of Trivia Club legacy teams, new regular teams at our newest location, and new faces at the Greatest Game Show in Toronto!

Oh Shoot! led the field after the first round of Trivia Classic, a great start for the team that so far holds the highest score at The Rec Room! A point and a half away were NAWCSS (knocks) in second place, while only half a point off from them were Team Name! Half a point away from Team Name were the M. Night Shaym-Aliens, and Oh Shoot!'s friendliest rivals I'm Bad At This. A point and a half off were Isn't This Speed Dating? continuing the Speed Dating tradition, as the fourth different team in six nights with a play on the name! The team over on the side table, Side Table, were in seventh, followed by Acadamia Nuts, The Dumplings in ninth, and Team H'Town rounding out the field in tenth!

Game Show Games saw Countdown Takedown begin round two, and even with a blind guess Team Name and the M. Night Shaym-Aliens showed how evenly matched they were when they each garnered the TOP TEN! Picking up six points each were Acadamia Nuts and Isn't This Speed Dating? while I'm Bad At This weren't far off, but thanks to the jam ahead were able to atleast grab two good points. Box Office Bullseye was next at The Rec Room, and though it proved as tricky as ever, five teams were able to pick up two good points, though not including Oh Shoot! or Team Name. In Survey Says we then saw a clear slate of TOP TEN guesses from our teams in The Hall, not including Isn't This Speed Dating who were still able to pick up eight points with their answer. Picking up the most points in round two, and edging them past Team Name in the overall standings were the M. Night Shaym-Aliens!

This led to quite the tricky Tri-Pardo, as the first category was rolled for fourteen points by The Dumplings, the second category was also rolled for fourteen points by Oh Shoot!, and the third category saw a seventeen point roll from I'm Bad At This! This made for a traditional forty-five point third round in a very untraditional way!

As always when point totals double up, it can be quite the give and take, and this night was no different. The M. Night Shaym-Aliens gained thirty one points off the first and third questions, while Team Name and Oh Shoot! each gained seventeen points on the third question, but lost fourteen on the second and first questions respectively! Other teams weren't quite as lucky, either gaining nothing or losing more then they bargained for!

With the Finale in front of them, the M. Night Shaym-Aliens wagered safely, not quite knowing were even there closest competition stood… and put twelve points on the board! On the flip side of the coin, Oh Shoot! left only four points on the board while Team Name went all-in! Though it was a more complicated path to victory for other teams, this much was clear for these teams… answer the Finale correctly and see how the night shook out for you!

With EVERY team nailing the Finale, here it how it all fell into place. The Top Five for the night were I'm Bad At This in fifth, with The Dumplings finishing as The Mean Team in fourth. In third place were Oh Shoot!, twenty-one points off the lead. Runners-up on the night were Team Name, in the closest finish of The Rec Room's young history…

Winning by a POINT, locking in their season as the Heartbreak Kids, and now GOLDEN VHS CHAMPS at five different locations, Cardinal Rule, Hitch, Lou Dawgs, Handlebar and YES now The Rec Room, the first team to notch such a feat… the M. NIGHT SHAYM-ALIENS!
