Trivial Award Winners by Award

Trivia Club has handed out 27 different Trivial Awards, which we have seperated into three categories: Annual (for those awards that have been consistently handed out), Occasional (for those awards that have been handed out more then once), and Unique (for those awards that have been given out once). As of 2020, there are six Annual, five Occasional, and sixteen Unique Trivial Awards.


ANNUAL AWARD
Team/Player Award
This award goes to the member of the Trivia Club community who is not only a successful member of a team but also makes an impact as a solo participant.
2016 – PETE!

2018 – Wookiee of the Year
2019 – Dead on the Inside
2020 – Matt Smith


Hustle & Desire Award
Hustle & Desire should never be underrated. That’s not just being said because your host Russel Harder won a high school basketball award for Hustle & Desire because of how loud he was while sitting on the bench. This award goes to the team that regularly enjoyed themselves, and put in the effort, even if they weren’t always going home with the top score.

Newcomers Award
This award goes to an impressive new team who made their debut at Trivia Club that year, although one or two appearances the year prior will not disqualify them.

2019 – Team Lithgow

High Score Award
This award goes to the team with the highest score in that calendar year.
2016 – Electric Mayhem (235)
2017 – Cunning Stunts (240, which would be topped the week following the awards, on December 17th)
2018 – M. Night Shaym-Aliens (244)
2019 – Not One, Not Two, Not Three, Not Five… Four Gregs (232)
2020 – Man with the Candy, as Ajulmah (190)


Socratic Shield
This award goes to the team with the most VHS wins in that calendar year. More details can be found here.

First Runners-Up
This award goes to the team who finished in second place at the most events in the calendar year. It was not awarded in 2018, and special consideration was taken in 2019.

2017 – 2 Fast 2 Curious, as Last Place Team (12)
2018 - Fighting Mongooses (12)
2019 – The Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes (runner-up at three consecutive Annual events, and in fact statistically runner-up in this award with 7 finishes to Cookiefaced's 11 second-place finishes on the year)
2020 – Cunning Stunts (12)



OCCASIONAL AWARD
Iron Team Award
Initially given out in 2016 and 2017 as a Combo Breakdown associated award to the team that won the longest edition of that specific Game Show Game, which had no time limit, the award evolved into an appearance associated award for longest unbroken participation streak.

Artistic Direction in Card Design
This award goes to the best designed set of team name cards, as the slips of paper are used each in-person event, to decide the order in Game Show Games, and which teams will pick categories during Tri-Pardo.

Artistic Direction in Team Naming
A continuation of the Artistic Direction award above, it goes to the team with the most consistently creative team names, following a theme or otherwise.
2018 – Smartly Pretty

Most Points
This award goes to the team that scored the most total points in the prior calendar year.

2020 (at the Clubhouse) – Fighting Mongooses (1042.5)

Lt. Dance w/ Me Award
This award was for our favorite team name from the team names belonging to always differently named, event to event, Lt. Dance.
2016 – Fantastic Beats & Where 2 Drop Them
2017 – Estelle Getty Lee



UNIQUE AWARD
Classic Team Award
This award goes to the team with the most points after the first round of play, at in-person events, combined for the year.
2016 – Cunning Stunts (1151.5 points)

Most for the Least
This award goes to the team who won their night of Trivia Club with the least amount of points.
2016 – The Bastards (4 points)

Two of the Year
What began as celebrating a couple of Trivia folks took on new meaning when on the 222nd edition of Trivia Club at Cardinal Rule… Trivial Knowledge won their second Golden VHS. On top of that, an important date for the team is February, 22nd.

Winning Percentage
This award goes to the team with the highest winning percentage of the last calendar year.

Photo Finish
This award goes to the team with the closest victory.

Comeback of the Year
This award goes to a team that made a regular return to Trivia Club after a prolonged time away.

One Nice Award
This award celebrated one long-awaited Golden VHS meant 69 Golden VHS wins in total. Nice.

Farside Achievement
This award goes to a team for impressive achievements at our Farside location.

It’s What You Learn Along the Way Award
This award goes to a team that might not get a lot of points on a night, but is always wanting to participant and support Trivia Club, and to learn along the way!

Coast to Coast Award
This award goes to a team in our on-line events whose team members have the most physical distance between them while playing.
2020 – Travel Buddies

Above Average Award
This award goes to a team with the highest per event points average, in a calendar year.
2020 – Reince Priebus’s Rancid Pubis

Producer of the Year
This award goes to an extra-special member of the Trivia Club team, someone who makes sure your host is kept on tracks of the game show and is keep the momentum rolling, while also being a perfect in-person audience all by themselves.

Group Chat Award
This award goes to the team who is making the most of their group chat at our on-line events, joining together the most households every time they play Trivia Club.

2 Year 2 Grand Award
This award goes to a team who held the Grand Championship Golden VCR for two years, even though they had only won it for one year. With the pandemic our 2020 annual event had to be cancelled, but the Golden VCR was kept safe for an entire additional year, and we are thankful for it!

Family Friendly Award
This award goes to a team who name got friendlier for the family, as Trivia Club went on-line! Though the F. used to stand for something different, I guess you could say it stands for Family Friendly now.

This award goes to a team whose enjoyment of Trivial Pursuit, helped your host pursue trivia as a career of his own!
