It was a wonderful night of Oscar Trivia in our Red Carpet Trivia pre-show which brought together a wide selection of teams to compete for a $50 gift card to The Rec Room, followed by a night of viewing the 92nd Academy Awards in The Hall at The Roundhouse! Throughout the night we played Bingo, brought those in attendance Game Show Games during commercials, and saw who might win a $100 gift card with the right kind of Oscar picks by the end of the night! Trivia Club was even featured on CP24, with your host Russel Harder being interviewed at 7PM before festivities began!

Red Carpet Oscar Trivia concluded with a 19 to 19 tie between our top two teams, in a field that included appearance from 2 Fast 2 Glamorous, Cookiefaced, and The Questionables! It would be a stand-off however, between Think Of Something Clever, regulars on our Oscar nights, and the eventual tie-breaking winners and now THREE-TIME OSCAR TRIVIA CHAMPS… It’s Not What Joon-Ho, Pitt’s What Pugh Dern Along Renee! This collection of Matt, SK, and Rob were back for a third consecutive win and with a new and able fourth team member to take home the Oscar night Golden VHS of It’s Mary Kate and Ashley’s Fashion Party! Thanks to the tie however, both teams would get $50 gift cards!

A wide selection of teams would then gain sweet sweet prizes throughout the night for Oscar Bingos and Game Show Game answers, with 2 Fast 2 Glamorous taking home the most candy through guesses that were the Closest Without Going Over!

Finally for The Rec Room Roundhouse’s Oscar Ballot Picks, we had another tie! This time the Oscar winnings continued for Matthew Smith of It’s Not What Joon-Ho, Pitt’s What Pugh Dern Along Renee! Matt was joined in the winners circle on the final award of the night, with a Parasite win it was also a win for Heather Smith of The Questionables! Both chose 19 correct winners on their ballot and walk away with winners gift cards as well!

Matt would also go on to finish as runner-up in the wider Oscar Confidence Pool, with 244 points off of his 19 correct picks. Winning Trivia Club’s 2019/2020 Oscar Confidence Pool was Mark Piggott of the Cunning Stunts with 21 correct picks for 258 points! This is the second consecutive win for Mark, and fourth overall! Both Mark and Matt went three for three in the Shorts categories, while also losing points in Best Director and Best Picture for picking 1917… but ultimately we were pleasantly surprised by Parasite.
