After three weeks away we were BACK at Hitch for these last few hazy weeks of summer for our 152nd event! A collection of long-time teams competed against new comers and interested parties! Who might end the night as the Golden VHS winners? We would have to wait and see!

 Trivia Classic  came to an end with the Fighting Mongooses in the lead! The Mongooses were celebrating two years of Trivia Club, having debuted with a win on the first week of August in 2017! On this night they also tied Last Place Team at Cardinal Rule, with most consecutive appearances by one team at one location, with 47 consecutive appearances! Five points behind the Fighting Mongooses, making their first appearance at Trivia Club here at Our Black Label Location were Correctum! One point behind them in third were the M. Night Shaym-Aliens, making their first appearance at Hitch since February, when we held the third annual Trivial Awards at Our Home Away! Five and a half points our most well traveled team in Trivia Club were the Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes (Taste the Freedom!), who himself had a one point lead on SuperBatman + WonderRobin, a mix of regulars here at Hitch which included Wookiee of the Neil! Rounding out the field was first time participant Needs a Nickname, having enjoyed a night of Trivia Club at Hitch as a late audience member a few weeks prior!

 Game Show Games  then saw the Good Folks from Laramie take the first TOP TEN in Countdown Takedown, while SuperBatman + WonderRobin got eight points, and ultimately Correctum! being the only team left pointless! Survey Says then had Needs a Nickname get the TOP TEN in our second game in the second round! Correctum! bounced back with eight points, the M. Night Shaym-Aliens gained two points on the Fighting Mongooses with six points to their two, and SuperBatman + WonderRobin were now the only team left pointless!

The field was still close heading into our third round,  Tri-Pardo ! Needs a Nickname chose the first question and rolled for three points, while the Good Folks chose the second question and rolled for fifteen points, before the M. Night Shaym-Aliens chose the third question and rolled for ten points! This meant that twenty-eight points were on the line! Hitting for the triple in the third round were the Fighting Mongooses, and M. Night Shaym-Aliens, to stay one-two, while Needs a Nickname and SuperBatman + WonderRobin gained some ground by also hitting for the triple, and Correctum! and Good Folks from Laramie stayed close, but could not get the answer to the first question, and lost three points in the tight points race! With less then twenty points between first and last this meant that wagering was all the more important in the Finale!

 Trivia Finale  wagering saw the Fighting Mongooses go all-in save for two, while the M. Night Shaym-Aliens and Correctum! left nothing on the line! Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes decided not to burn it down, instead wagering two points, while Needs a Nickname wagered ten! The Finale question saw two teams unable to find the correct answer… Needs a Nickname lost ten points, while the Fighting Mongooses would not be repeating as Champs just as they did their first two nights out in August 2017 in their debut, as they lost all but two points!

Finishing as runners-up on the night with 128 points were first timers Correctum! Winning the night with 136 points, following their win this past Tuesday with a Golden VHS six days later and their THIRTY-FOURTH GOLDEN VHS overall and SEVENTH at Hitch… the M. NIGHT SHAYM-ALIENS! This is the Shaym-Aliens first win at Hitch since December of 2017, yes just four months after the Fighting Mongooses debuted at Trivia Club, when the Shaym-Aliens won at our 108th event at Hitch!

We’ll see you all again in TWO WEEKS for the next edition off Trivia Club on August 26th, and in ONE MONTH for the SIXTH ANNUAL HITCHENS CUP all across September!
