at Farside: 2 Fast 2 Curious, August 7th 2019 TRIVIA CLUB CHAMPS
August 09, 2019
What a wild and crazy night at Farside this past Wednesday, as the first of two consecutive nights of Trivia Club at the Friendly Neighborhood ‘side this August brought out new teams, loud blokes, and returning competitors! Who would take home the Golden VHS, and what kind of fun would we have? Well we’d have to wait and see!
Trivia Classic ended with 2 Fast 2 Curious returning from the three-week gap between events to retake the lead in the first round! Farside’s highly competitive house team had to deal with the able duo of Jim and the Pam’s however, who were just seven points behind on their first night out at Trivia Club! In third place, five points off of Jim and the Pam’s were the returning Team Lithgow, back after July away, and rounding out the field were the not good but Not Bad Blokes!
Game Show Games then had a competitive field of teams, with Team Lithgow juuust missing out on points in Countdown Takedown with the TOP TEN instead going to 2 Fast 2 Curious, followed by eight points to Jim and the Pam’s and six points to Not Bad Blokes! 2 Fast 2 Curious then got another TOP TEN in Survey Says, followed by Team Lithgow also picking up six points!
Tri-Pardo then saw Not Bad Blokes roll a thirteen on the first category, while Jim and the Pam’s rolled a thirteen as well on the second category and finally 2 Fast 2 Curious rolled seventeen on the third category! This meant that a potential forty-three points were up for grabs! Hitting for the triple in round three were Not Bad Blokes who, though still loud, locked down at least half the teams will power to brainstorm and walk away with forty-three points and shift into second place! I say second, as 2 Fast 2 Curious held onto their lead with a thirty point take from the second and third questions! Jim and the Pam’s also gabbed thirty points from the second and third questions, and were four and a half points back from Not Bad Blokes!
This brought us to the Trivia Finale , wherein every team went all in except for Team Lithgow, who perhaps sensing their place in the standings (and the loud proclamation of points from Not Bad Blokes) bet against the field and wagered nothing in the off chance that everyone would answer incorrectly! That would not be the case, as only Not Bad Blokes would answer incorrectly and would then after fall to fourth place! Finishing in third were the always able but yet to break on through to the Golden side, Team Lithgow, while runners-up on the night were charming first timers Jim and the Pam’s with 130 points!
This meant that winning their seventh Golden VHS at Farside, and TWENTY-SIXTH GOLDEN VHS overall with 168 points were 2 FAST 2 CURIOUS! This gives them their seventeenth score to pass the Sesquicentennial Mark, and continues an impressive year for the team formerly known as Last Place Team!
Congrats one more time to 2 Fast 2 Curious, and thank you all once again for coming out to compete at the Friendly Neighborhood FARSIDE! We will see you again NEXT WEDNESDAY in this August slate of back-to-back Trivia Club events, on August 14th!
