We returned to Hitch this past Monday for the 153rd edition of Trivia Club at our longest running location in Toronto, with a selection of long-time teams being joined by a very attentive new team! Who would win the Golden VHS on this night?

 Trivia Classic  began with the Fighting Mongooses, the Invincible Iron Mongooses on this night, in first place after the first round! This being the teams forty-eighth consecutive appearance, the Fighting Mongooses set a new consecutive appearance streak at a single Trivia Club location! Their Iron Team streak stretches back to November 20th, 2017 across weekly, twice monthly, and monthly events, and surpasses the all 2017 long 47 consecutive weekly appearances made by 2 Fast 2 Curious then known as Last Place Team at Cardinal Rule! A point and a half behind was the returning Did It All For The Wookiee, who himself had a four point lead on the Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes, in full-on racing apparel! Rounding out the field was The Thing!

 Game Show Games  then saw Did It All For The Wookiee grab the TOP TEN in Survey Says, with Good Folks getting eight points, and the Fighting Mongooses six points, after all teams had gone pointless in Countdown Takedown! With forty points then rolled overall in  Tri-Pardo , our third round of trivia on the night saw both the Fighting Mongooses and Did It All For The Wookiee hitting for the triple, while the Good Folks from Laramie nabbed twenty-nine points from the first and second questions, including the nat twenty that the Good Folks rolled for the first category!

 Trivia Finale  wagering saw everyone go all-in, save for the Fighting Mongooses who wagered sixty of their sixty-nine points (nice), but with Did It All For The Wookiee holding that point and a half lead the Fighting Mongooses were protecting the off chance that everyone might answer incorrectly! Not everyone did however, with both The Thing and Did It All For The Wookiee answering incorrectly, meaning that finishing as runner-up was the Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes, and Pat & Matt just so you’re aware Arnis has now been awarded enough hockey cards that he needs folks to help him open them!

Winning their TWENTIETH GOLDEN VHS at Hitch, the first team to do so since the Trusty Rumpets, and TWENTY-SECOND OVERALL on their Iron Team night… were the FIGHTING MONGOOSES! Those Invincible Iron Mongooses finished the night with 129 points!

Congrats one more time to the Fighting Mongooses, and thank you to all those who came out to join in on some Trivia Club goodness at Hitch Limited! We’ll see you again in TWO WEEKS for the first leg of the SIXTH ANNUAL CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS CUP! Yes, this Black Label prize is the only drinkable Trivia Club trophy!
