In our
second week of Trivia Club Canada-wide at The Rec Room, we returned to The Hall
at The Rec Room Roundhouse for the seventy-seventh edition of Canada’s Greatest
Game Show on May 7th! For this surprise occasion we were joined by a few new
faces and a wide array of regular teams as well! Who would break through for that
Golden VHS glory, and who would also be awarded our new Cineplex Gift Card prize
as well?
Trivia
Classic began with Team Name returning to take the first round lead on the
field! They had a one point advantage on our second place team post-Classic, The
Questionables! Formerly known as Suck It Trebek, a name meant with love
and with enjoyment of a Saturday Night Live meme, The Questionables were trying
something different, while still keeping our Jeopardy host in their hearts! In
third place after the first, three points off the lead were returning Champs
Cookiefaced! Half a point back from Cookiefaced were Jerry Superstar! The
Integals rounded the Top Five (top five top five)! The Craic Is Mighty returned
from a few months away, and were three and a half points away from fifth but two
points ahead of Dead on the Inside, who were returning for the first time since
their second Golden VHS, as Settling For Less!
Tri-Pardo ,
our second round in The Roundhouse, then saw Jerry Superstar! pick the first
category and roll for fourteen points, followed by The Integals picking the
second category and rolling for nineteen points, and finally Cookiefaced
picking the third category and rolling for fifteen points! This meant that forty-eight
points were on the line in the second round! Both Jerry Superstar! and The
Integals gained nineteen points, while The Craic Is Mighty lost ten points!
Settling for Less gained a bit more, with an eighteen point swing, while
Cookiefaced gained thirty-four points to stay in third place! Third, because
staying in second after hitting for the triple in round two and gaining all
forty-eight points were The Questionables… while also hitting for the triple
and keeping their ONE POINT LEAD were Team Name!
Trivia
Finale wagering then saw most teams go all-in, though The Integals left two on
the board, and Settling For Less decided not to wager a single point! The
Questionables only kept one point behind… and Team Name? They left thirteen
points back, opening the door for the team formerly known as Suck It Trebek! Team
Name were able to answer the last question correctly, but finished the night as
runners-up with 133 points!
Finishing
the night with 143 points, a new personal best for a new team name, and their
SEVENTH GOLDEN VHS at 77th edition of Trivia Club on the 7th
of May, the most all-time at The Rec Room… THE QUESTIONABLES! Well done to the
team on their new era at The Rec Room Roundhouse!
