at Hitch: Fighting Mongooses, May 13th 2019 TRIVIA CLUB CHAMPS

It was our first edition of Trivia Club at our longest-running current location of Trivia Club after our Grand Championship Grand Prix! With the repeat Champs from the last two GCGP editions at Hitch not making an appearance on the night, we would have a new VHS winner at Hitch for the first time since March, at our 146th event!
Trivia Classic , the first round of the Greatest Game Show in Canada, saw newcomers to Trivia Club (though familiar faces to Hitch) The Socratic Pull-Out Method with a two and a half point lead on the Fighting Mongooses: Endgame! Five points behind their friendly rivals at Hitch, were The Slightly Damp but Still Pretty Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes! Rounding out the field were newcomer Lone Wolfs!
After the Box Office Bullseye proved difficult to hit for the first of our second round Game Show Games , The Good Folks grabbed the TOP TEN in Survey Says! The Socratic Pull-Out Method grabbed six points, while the Fighting Mongooses nabbed four. The Socratic Pull-Out Method then added to their lead with the TOP TEN in Countdown Takedown, while the Fighting Mongooses nabbed eight points!
To begin our third round, Tri-Pardo , we saw the Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes pick the first category and roll eight points, while the Socratic Pull-Out Method picked category two and rolled sixteen points! Finally the Fighting Mongooses: Endgame picked the third category and also rolled sixteen points. This meant a total of forty points were on the line! While Lone Wolfs lost sixteen points from the third question, the Fighting Mongooses nabbed eight points from the first question, though lost sixteen after gaining sixteen! Finally the Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes had answered the first two questions correctly for twenty-four points, but so did the Socratic Pull-Out Method! This meant that our newcomers of the Method still had a nine and a half point lead on the field, heading into the Finale!
In the Trivia Finale it then became a balance of wagers and correct answers, as the Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes went all-in, while the Fighting Mongooses left three points behind, and newcomers the Socratic Pull-Out Method wagered twenty of their points! With the blind wager they were not aware that this did not just give Laramie Cigs a chance to catch them, but also opened the door wide enough for the Fighting Mongooses as well! With the last question though, only two of the night's teams would answer it correctly! The Socratic Pull-Out Method would get the Finale correct, but on their stellar debut night out as a team they would only finish as runners-up with 90.5 points!
Finishing just two and a half points ahead of them with 93 points, the other team to answer the Finale correct, and winning their NINETEENTH GOLDEN VHS... the FIGHTING MONGOOSES: ENDGAME!
