at Farside: 2 Fast 2 Curious, February 20th 2019 TRIVIA CLUB CHAMPS

February 21, 2019

February was rounding to an end at Farside for the twenty-sixth edition, with a competitive collection of five teams! Amongst them were two of our most regular participants over the last three years, as well as returning faces to the Friendly Neighbourhood ‘side, and an all-new father/son duo!

Trivia Classic  with 2 Fast 2 Curious, on their 102nd appearance surpassing The Bastards and now making the fifth most appearances by any team in Trivia Club history, having gained seven and a half points on the closest competition! Not to far behind in second however were The Arthurs, a team that included VHS winning alumni from Andy Winners Czar, who were just half a point ahead of recent Trivial Award winner of the Gold Stars, the Fighting Mongooses! In fourth, one and a half points back were The Sharks, returning as Fuck Billy Zane! Reach for the Tap, a new father/son duo, rounded the Top Five (top five top five) for the first round!

Game Show Games  saw Box Office Bulls-eye chosen by The Arthurs and had the Fighting Mongooses make the closest guess on the Box Office but had both the Mongooses and 2 Fast 2 Curious gain five points! Fuck Billy Zane would also add to their total with a further two points! Survey Says then saw Reach for the Tap grab the TOP TEN points, while Fuck Billy Zane notched eight points, The Arthurs six points, and 2 Fast 2 Curious four points! Finally, in Countdown Takedown, 2 Fast 2 Curious put the plus one on the Fighting Mongooses for the TOP TEN! Ultimately this meant that 2 Fast 2 Curious had regained a strong lead on an otherwise tight field, heading into Tri-Pardo!

Our third round had the Fighting Mon-guy roll three points on the first question, while Reach for the Tap added thirteen points on the second category, and Fuck Billy Zane put another eighteen points on the line for our third and final query of  Tri-Pardo ! This meant that thirty-four points were on the line, and hitting that triple were both The Arthurs, as well as 2 Fast 2 Curious! This kept the Curious in the lead, while the Arthurs were now in second place, followed by Fighting Mongooses who had gained twenty-one points from the first and third question, and saw themselves a half a point ahead of Fuck Billy Zane who had also gained points off of those two questions! Reach for the Tap were in fifth but had gained good points from the first and second questions and went into the Finale with a strong score of fifty-four against a tough field!

Trivia Finale  proved unpredictable in terms of wagers, with Reach for the Tap and Fighting Mongooses sensing they weren’t in the lead, both hedging for chips to fall in their favour! 2 Fast 2 Curious however were more then comfortable to go all-in, while The Arthurs and Fuck Billy Zane were just as comfortable to put it all on the line save for half a point!

All the lead team needed to do though was answer that Finale correctly… and that they did! Winning their TWENTY-FIRST GOLDEN VHS, and the second in three events at Farside were 2 FAST 2 CURIOUS! Their 182 points was also the tenth time that they crossed the Sesquicentennial Mark, and the sixth in the twelve events that they had competed in since the weeks of Cardinal Rule!
