Sterling K. Brown coming out emotions blazing in the monologue was expected, but wonderfully delivered, and it also came with a spot on Kenan impersonation. Speaking of Kenan, Saturday Night Live’s longest tenured cast member breaking the forth wall to gaze into the abyss during the Oscars Edition of Celebrity Family Feud was wonderfully done as well. For those wondering who got the points for playing the Sasquatch, that would be… well, no one technically, as the starring role was played by the always funny Saturday Night Live writer Streeter Seidell!

All together, Sterling K. Brown proved an excellent host. Both Brown and the writing staff knew that the award-winning actor had a certain intensity in his approach, and they used it quite well. It helps put Sterling K. Brown and his episode into the top third of the season so far, along with Will Ferrell, Chance the Rapper, Tiffany Haddish, and Kumail Nanjiani. Bill Hader will return NEXT WEEK to host what will potentially be another unfortunately little-watched episode that may again be excellently hosted! Arcade Fire, the first musical guest of the Saturday Night Live Fantasy League, will be back as well!

It will be also be the end of the regular season of our SNL Fantasy League VERSUS play! This week saw the top team sitting out, so any number of interesting match-ups were potentially putting the play-offs into focus!

LAST EPISODE: CHARLES BARKLEY

NEXT EPISODE: BILL HADER
