 I t was date night at Cardinal Rule, with a wonderful collection of Trivia Club folk coming out to our Original Home presented by Steam Whistle! The week of August 16th has always brought an interesting collection of teams to the west-end, with SPARTACUS winning "Fist Pump Freeze Frame" in 2012, Sam Rockwell winning in 2013, the Electric Mayhem winning in 2014 during their Summer of Mayhem (while Mark P. of the Cunning Stunts guest hosted!), the M. Night Shaym-Aliens "Divorce Court" winning in 2015, and the Real Housewives of Roncesvalles winning last year only to return in the segment of the inaugural Trivial Awards with other First & Gold notables! Who would win the Golden VHS this second week of August?!

After the first round of Trivia Classic, it was the returning Thankstriving (now with another couple!) continuing their play on words as Cryabetes & the Sugar Free Candies, leading the pack! In second place after one were The Date Night Shaym-Aliens, doubling up date night as well! Last Place Team were in third, pairing partners, brothers, and friends! Rounding out the field were the returning David Bowie's Corporate Whores! Yes, it's quite the night for trivia when a Golden VCR winning team (well, one of said team plus a new team member) is rounding out the field!

Game Show Games saw the returning format from last Wednesday, with David Bowie's Corporate Whores starting their climb forward from fourth with a TOP TEN in Countdown Takedown! Last Place Team were still able to grab eight points, while Cryabetes & the Sugar Free were able to nab six points, and The Date Night Shaym-Aliens picked up four points! Survey Says then saw Last Place Team take the TOP TEN, while Date Night picked up six points, and Cryabetes picked up four points! Finally in our Game Show Games edition of Box Office Bulls-Eye, Last Place Team secured their second TOP TEN of the round by .6, while David Bowie's missed the 10 point mark by .6 themselves while still grabbing five points, and The Date Night Shaym-Aliens also grabbed five points!

The Tri-Pardo fun on the night then brought together a first category that was worth eighteen points and was presented by the Electric Mayhem, a second category that was worth six points, and a third category that was worth eighteen points once again! With that many points up for grabs, no team was out of the fight! This meant that, yes, even though they had not even been second for longer then a Game Show, David Bowie's Corporate Whores were ready to fight back for a Mayhem-esque overall record! Hitting for the triple, as they are want to do, David Bowie's Corporate Whores picked up the forty-two points available! Not to be outdone the newest team on the night, Cryabetes & the Sugar Free Candies grabbed thirty-six points on the first and third questions, while The Date Night Shaym-Aliens solved the third question for eighteen points of their own! Though they led the night heading into the third round, and gave correct answers on the second and third questions, Last Place Team were still one and a half points behind David Bowie's Corporate Whores heading into the Finale!

Each team had a different wagering tactic heading into the Finale, even though only four points separated the top three teams! Wagering low saw Cryabetes & the Sugar Free Candies finish the night as runners-up! Wagering high, and proving to be the sole team who garnered the correct answer on last question on the night?

Winning their SIXTEENTH Golden VHS in thirty-one events, with their fifteen Golden VHS wins at Cardinal Rule being the fifth most all-time, DAVID BOWIE'S CORPORATE WHORES!
