 2  was the name of the game, on Wednesday night. As it was the 222nd night of competition at the Original Home of Trivia Club, Cardinal Rule, we were playing songs with "Two" in the title all night and had five excellent teams, with new faces mixed with the familiar! Little did we suspect just how deep "two" would go on the night!

After our first round of Trivia Classic, it was late arriving but always competitive fourteen-time Golden VHS Champs David Bowie's Corporate Whores in the lead! This pair of D.B.'s C.W. had a three point lead on a rare six-member version of Trivial Knowledge in second, who themselves had a three and a half point lead on eleven-time Golden VHS Champs Last Place Team! In fourth place were the returning Melinda from Corporate HQ, two-time Golden VHS Champs in their own right, with newcomers The Nations rounding out the field in fifth!

Game Show Games, our round two spectacular, began with a spot-on guess from Mel from Corporate, which was agreed upon before hand by Last Place Team even before the guess was made in Countdown Takedown! It was a guess that was gamed by David Bowie's Corporate Whores who got the TOP TEN in our first game (since 22 was CLOSE, but not that easy), while Mel and LPT grabbed eight points, and Trivial Knowledge still picked up four points! In Survey Says, Melinda from Corporate HQ then picked up the other TOP TEN, while David Bowie's Corporate Whores picked up eight points, Trivial Knowledge grabbed six points, and Last Place Team picked up four! The Nations were not left pointless in round two however, as they were still able to pick-up one point in Combo Breakdown, while Last Place Team and Melinda from Corporate each picked up two points... and Trivial Knowledge outlasted David Bowie's Corporate Whores as the last team standing (winning the Combo Breakdown for the second straight week) for THIRTEEN POINTS!

This meant heading into our third round of Tri-Pardo, that David Bowie's Corporate Whores still had the lead... but only a single point lead over Trivial Knowledge! One and a half point points ahead of Melinda from Corporate HQ, in third place, were Last Place Team! This left some very important third round questions, a margin of error made even more critical with a first question that was worth ONE POINT (yes, only the second time this had happened, and the first it had happened on a single roll), while the second question was worth TWENTY POINTS (coming after the first roll of nineteen) just to swing things the other way, and rounding it all out with a third third worth seventeen points! One team would hit for the triple, that that team would be... Trivial Knowledge, going from second place to first for the first time on the night thanks to a thirty-eight point swing! David Bowie's Corporate Whores would not be far behind, after adding twenty-one points, while Last Place Team would add nineteen points!

This left Trivial Knowledge in control of their destiny before the Trivia Finale, while David Bowie's Corporate Whores left no room for error, and Last Place Team left a wager that would at least ensure then the win if eeeevery team were to get the Finale incorrect (not completely uncommon at trivia, remember)!

On this night, the 222nd episode of Trivia Club at Cardinal Rule however, there wasn't going to be any other outcome except for the SECOND Golden VHS Championship for TRIVIAL KNOWLEDGE! To add to this number fun, one half of Trivial Knowledge's familiar couple's birthday is... February 22nd! Which meant, incredibly, 2/22 gets #2 on 222!

Yep, Russel knocked down a chair (or two) in amazement after hearing this.
