 I t was an intimate night of exciting competition at our Original Home of Cardinal Rule, presented by Steam Whistle! Yes, we had an All-New Last Place Team (missing two thirds of the Classic gang, but adding three new-ish parts!), and friends of Last Place Team, in Asparagass! Trivial Knowledge were also there for all kinds of fun, and we were also joined by newcomers in Margaret Jean Foley and Heather Erin Jarvis take a Quiz! Yes, they were new... but it felt like we already knew them by name. And we're bad with names, so that was helpful.

The first round came to an end, and Trivia Classic saw Last Place Team in the lead over the field, looking to make it four Golden VHS wins in the last five weeks! Five points behind them were our new coming duo Foley and Jarvis Taking a Quiz. Two and a half points behind Foley and Jarvis were our other two teams, Trivial Knowledge and Asparagass, all tied up!

Game Show Games in round two, proved quite tricky indeed! Trivial Knowledge nabbed the first TOP TEN in Countdown Takedown, with Asparagass grabbing eight points, and Last Place Team grabbing six points. Margaret Jean Foley and Heather Erin Jarvis take a Quiz grabbed the TOP TEN in Survey Says, while Last Place Team grabbed two points! This then led to a tightly contested Combo Breakdown that saw Last Place Team grab a point, and their friend's in Asparagass also grab a point, while Foley and Jarvis finished with two points... and Trivial Knowledge ended it as the last team standing... but lost SIX of their eight potential points, and also finished with TWO POINTS as a result!

Just when you thought things couldn't get more unpredictable, it was a third round that was tough on three of the four teams, and an opening for the fourth! Yes, our first category in Tri-Pardo was worth fourteen points (and was the introduction of Last Place Team's presented category), while the second category was worth thirteen points, and the third category was a TWENTY point question, rolled on the third try by Trivial Knowledge! All together this forty-seven points up for grabs was higher then average and was set to swing things! Last Place Team would be hit the hardest, losing 34 points on the first and third questions being incorrect! Trivial Knowledge and Asparagass were also hit for a loss, both getting the first question incorrect! Margaret Jean Foley and Heather Erin Jarvis take a Quiz also took a big swing by answering all three questions, and though they got the first question incorrect, they got the second and third questions correct... and added NINETEEN POINTS as a result!

Yes, heading into the Finale, our newcomers that did not even plan to stay past the first round were now in the lead... and with everyone going all in (and some even playing with house money) they were not only in the lead, they had a heavy advantage! Could they join David Bowie's Corporate Whores, Karen from Finance, the Cunning Stunts, the Unusual Suspects, Last Place Team, the Electric Bastards, and the M. Night Shaym-Aliens... as only the ninth Champions of 2017 at Cardinal Rule, as we reach the half-way mark of the year?!

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: FIRST & GOLD!

They could, and they would! Not only did MARGARET JEAN FOLEY AND HEATHER ERIN JARVIS TAKE A QUIZ... they won a Quiz! On their first night out at Trivia Club, the duo also won their FIRST Golden VHS! Finishing as runners-up were Trivial Knowledge, and though they finished in last... Last Place Team crossed the 3,000 point line, accumulated all-time at Trivia Club!
