  T o wrap up 2016 at our home on the east-end of Toronto, Trivia Club was joined by a special guest AND a highly competitive crowd of folks! Yes, it was a room FULL of Hitchens Cup winners to round out one hell of a year!

After the first round of Trivia Classic, it was the Trusty Rumpets with a three-point lead on their closest competition, a spun off Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes! Yes, Arnis, with his Golden Sharpie, was going solo, and only half a point behind him was Tiny Tim’s Twelve Days of Quizmas! The Good Folks wasn’t the only solo competition, because even though he enjoyed his last Lou Dawg’s appearance the week before… PETE! was able to find some time for Hitch trivia! Rounding out the field was newcomers Green, in and out for the first round!

Game Show Games, beginning with Countdown Takedown, saw the Trusty Rumpets grab the first TOP TEN! PETE! gathered eight points, while Tiny Tim’s… took six! Then in Survey Says, it was Tiny Tim’s Twelve Days of Quizmas who grabbed the TOP TEN! With eight points was now the Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes, the Trusty Rumpets taking six, and PETE! grabbing two big points! Finally in C-C-Combo Breakdown, it was a tough grab, as The Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes were the last team standing with FOUR POINTS, while Tiny Tim’s… and the Trusty Rumpets each grabbed a single point.

After a quick, but competitive second round, it was time for Tri-Pardo, and after our three question penultimate round the Trusty Rumpets were caught up by the fifteen point question… and ended up with just five points as a result! PETE!, The Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes, and Tiny Tim’s Twelve Days of Quizmas, each added twenty points to their totals! This left the Rumpets in third, just two and a half point ahead of PETE!, with Tiny Tim’s… in first place before the Finale, four and a half points ahead of The Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes! In the Finale, PETE! wagered half a point… while Tiny Tim’s... left half a point behind! The Rumpets went all in, while The Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes…

Were the only team to get the last question correct, making the GOOD FOLKS FROM LARAMIE CIGARETTES with their one-hundred and seven points, FOUR-TIME GOLDEN VHS CHAMPS! Congrats to Arnis, and his sidekick on the night, Godzilla! Thank you to everyone who came out to end 2016 with a competitive bang! Who were then rewarded for their competition, with some (candy) cigarettes by the Good Folks from Laramie!
See you again, in 2017 at Hitch on Monday, Janury 9th! Yes, THREE WEEKS from now! Remember, it’s not what you know, it’s what you learn along the way!
