Threepeats are never easy, it's been said before by myself at Trivia Club and it's been proven by before at Trivia Club by every team except for and even including the Cunning Stunts and the Electric Mayhem. Even as recently as two weeks ago, the potential THREE-PETE! was ended by the very Cunning Stunts who were looking to make October their Very Own!

After the first round of Trivia Classic, it was the Cunning Stunts with the six point lead on The Bastards! Just Bunches, the latest name for Lt. Dance (no Oates, or Hall for that matter, tonight), were in third... while I-H-O-P-ness (& Dan the Schmeg) were in fourth! In fifth were Fox & Squirrel, while Bottoms Up and The Tits rounded out the field!

Starting off Game Show Games was a controversial Countdown Takedown! And in case that sounds familiar, you might remember all the way back to February 17th, 2015 when the Cunning Stunts were again on the verge of a Threepeat, the first of it's kind! The Cunning Stunts, with their narrow Survey Says-given advantage, answered the deceivingly simple question. (Damn you, simple questions!) "How many studio albums did The Beatles release?" Their answer "13", gave them a night shifting TWENTY POINTS. The controversy, a quick google showed wikipedia naming 12 albums released in the UK, leaving off the Magical Mystery Tour in the process (two EP's in the UK were made into an LP in the US). Except UK releases was never specified in our question. Our initial source, none other then thebeatles.com had another opinion on the matter, naming 13. 'MERICA!

The Cunning Stunts would go on to record Trivia Club's first ever threepeat, and on October 25th, it was the Cunning Stunts once again with the advantage, but with a different format for Countdown Takedown, The Bastards were arguing for their own points, as opposed to arguing against the Stunts points. (Still, damn you, simple questions!) "How many years combined had the Chicago White Sox and Houston Astros been without a World Series, when they matched up in 2005?" The simplicity was in Trivia Club's mistake this time, however, as the answer was recorded by us 129, from ESPN Stats & Info of all places... which proved correct for seasons, yes, but not as the question asked, for years... which was a combined 131 thanks to the strike cancelled season of 1994! And since The Bastards initially answered 130, they lost out on the TOP TEN to the Cunning Stunts! Before Game Show Games had finished though... it was The Bastards who were awarded that TOP TEN because of that different specification, with the Cunning Stunts picking up eight points, I-H-O-P-ness grabbing six in the Countdown, and Fox & Squirrel picking up four points!

In Survey Says it was The Bastards grabbing the TOP TEN answer once, while everyone was able to pick up some points... not just in one Surveyed question, but TWO! This was followed by a Game Show Game ending C-C-Combo Breakdown that saw The Bastards crack out an impressive Last Team Standing showing for FIFTEEN POINTS, with Fox & Squirrel coming in second with four points, the Just Bunches and the Cunning Stunts each grabbing three points! I-H-O-P grabbed two, as did The Tits, while Bottoms Up were still able to take a single point of their own!

Tri-Pardo was ultimately a tale of two teams, on this night, the Cunning Stunts looking to threepeat and The Bastards looking to stop them, on their own return! After the Game Show Games that proved both controversial and impressive, The Bastards had gained the advantage, but the Cunning Stunts weren't done yet as they gained thirty points in the third round to The Bastards twenty-five points swing! Then in the Finale, the Cunning Stunts left one point on the table... while The Bastards left two...

With both teams getting the answer correct however, THE BASTARDS won their THIRTY-THIRD GOLDEN VHS! The Cunning Stunts had to settle for runner-up on the night, and yes, by the margin of those Countdown Takedown points at that, 156 to 139.

Congrats though, once more to The Bastards on a hard won victory, and thank you as always to the Cunning Stunts, Lt. Dance, and to the other teams that come out and enjoy trivia every Tuesday at Lou Dawgs!
