It's rare we get a full NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS, even 180 events into Cardinal Rule, so it was a pleasure to have three very evenly matched teams going head-to-head-to-head on Wednesday night! Could the M. Night Shaym-Aliens repeat at Champs? Would the Last Place Team win their third Golden VHS on their twenty-fifth appearance? And what about Team Name, who hadn't been victorious since their twentieth Golden VHS at the end of May?!

As Trivia Classic came to a close, it was the M. Night Shaym-Aliens with the top mark of the first round! Two points behind were the Last Place Team, while Team Name were just three points behind them and five points behind the lead. Yes, for this intimate rain-soaked Wednesday night it was already a night rife for drama heading into round two!

Game Show Games saw the M. Night Shaym-Aliens play the game theory of the first game of Countdown Takedown, and go one over Team Name for the TOP TEN! Team Name, of course, still got eight points for their troubles while Last Place Team picked up six. In Survey Says, the M. Night Shaym-Aliens once again grabbed the TOP TEN! Last Place Team were next, and nabbed a surprising two points, while Team Name picked up the six! Yes, the Shaym-Aliens had gained quite a foot hold in Game Show Games... but C-C-Combo Breakdown still had the ability to make up ground for at least one team, and boy did it ever! Last Place Team were first out for one point, while the M. Night Shaym-Aliens were next to fall for two points... and Team Name were able to then combo to finish with THIRTEEN!

This brought Team Name even with the M. Night Shaym-Aliens before Tri-Pardo! And in the third round Last Place Team answered the second question fifteen points, while the M. Night Shaym-Aliens hit the first and second questions for twenty-five points... but Team Name were able to correctly answer the second and third questions for the tune of thirty-five points and a ten point lead heading into the Finale!
