On the first week of June, Trivia Club's short yet exciting run at Gin Mill has come to a close! Indeed this is the last event for Toronto's Greatest Game Show at the former home of The Yellow Griffin! Before things wrapped up however, Anthony Couto became second most hostingest host of Trivia Club with this third occasion! We were more then happy to have Anthony as part of the Trivia Club family! It was an honour to have another person put their spin on the familiar format, and we really do hope we find Anthony the best possible location in the near future to continue hosting Trivia Club!

On this the final night of our first licensed Trivia Club, it was THE FREELANCERS who won the GOLDEN VHS CHAMPIONSHIP! It was fitting to have Lt. Dance alumni return once again to Gin Mill and win a Championship from their compatriot! They won the night with fifty points, over a pair of runners-up in Chewbacca and The Return of Melania, who both finished with zero points.

Congrats once again to The Freelancers, and thank you again to everyone who came out to take part in Trivia Club this past Wednesday, and at every one of the three events at Gin Mill! Though Trivia Club will not be holding trivia events at Gin Mill any longer, we look forward to expanding the universe of Trivia Club into new locations with new hosts! It was the return event at our first licensed location for Trivia Club hosted Anthony Couto! Yes, at  Gin Mill  for the sophomore session also known as Episode 2: Two Good Two Be True, it was a more intimate affair, and all the more fun. With three teams joining in at our weekly Wednesday in Bloor West Village, The Cherry Pickers finished the night in third with zero points! Six points ahead, the runners-up on the night, Cockroach Milk!

Holding out for the big win to end May 2018 for Trivia Club, notching their FIRST time as GOLDEN VHS CHAMPS... THE IMMIGRANTS with 52 points! Congrats to The Immigrants (for getting the job done), and thank you to everyone who came out to Gin Mill to enjoy tasty beer and challenging trivia at Gin Mill! With all the pride in the world from Russel Harder and Trivia Club, our first licensed location debuted on May 23rd, 2018 at  Gin Mill ! Move over the man in the bow-tie, as Trivia Club at Gin Mill is hosted by Anthony Couto, the host in the Late Night with Seth Myers hat. Some of you may know Anthony as one of the members of Lt. Dance, one of the rare Century Teams (teams who have made at least 100 event appearances)! Anthony joins the few people that are not Russel and have hosted Trivia Club! Yes, alongside Matthew Smith of the Electric Bastards, et al, and Mark Piggot and the Cunning Stunts, Anthony brought his two thumbs to the upstairs event space of the recently renovated Gin Mill on Bloor West!

Our inaugural event at 2202 Bloor St West, EPISODE 1: STARTSTRUCK saw not only a number of Lt. Dance alumni join the festivities but also the M. Night Shaym-Aliens! We couldn't have been happier to see Trivia Club's house team out to support our newest location, and first-time licensed location!

In fact all of these fine folks, and more, finished tied for fifth as the M. Night Shaym-Aliens ended the night even at zero with Trivial Pantsuit, Zooboomba Crew, Team Squad, and Team Name (no relation, either to Team Squad or the Team Name of other Trivia Club events)! Finishing in fourth were Tort Or No Tort? with 20 points, while The Quizzly Bears were ahead with 31 points in third place! Ultimately it would be a tale of two teams, Bear buds The Saucy Intruders would finish the first night at Gin Mill as runners-up with 132 points...

The inaugural GOLDEN VHS CHAMPS at our first licensed location, hosted by Anthony, would be DRUG FORD! Not only did these dope dudes bring a nation of domination, they also finished the night with 155 points, meaning the first VHS winners at Gin Mill would also grab the first Sesquicentennial Mark on Bloor West Village as well!

With a mind on collaboration, we're excited to be working with Anthony! After six years of Russel traveling back and forth across Toronto, putting in those Trivia hours, it'll be exciting to have company in the Club house! We can't wait to see where 2018 and beyond takes us! Until NEXT WEDNESDAY at Gin Mill...
