A ll Saints Day proved to be quite the day for Trivia Club teams, whether you recognize the Saint of Show, David Bowie, or the Saint of Silly, Bill Murray. The Saint of Skeptics, Gillian Anderson? Maybe the Saint of Seconds, John Candy? My personal question, the Saint of So Many Questions, Alex Trebek. With a collection of Cardinal Rule's most familiar faces this past year, it was a wonderful way to begin November and the right mix to set a new record in this elite eighth remaining Cardinal Rule event 2017.

Trivia Classic  saw the Cunning Stunts lead the field after the first round. Their 49 points after the first frame hadn't been seen in some time, though some teams HAVE crossed the 50 point barrier in the past. We'll get to the tale of the tape, however. Also on this night with more then 40 points in Trivia Classic were the Last Place Team in second place! Seven points behind them in third were Trivial Knowledge, with the M. Night Shaym-Aliens three points behind them in fourth.

Game Show Games , our second round at the Rule, saw Trivial Knowledge grab the TOP TEN in Countdown Takedown, while Last Place Team nabbed eight points and the Cunning Stunts took six points for themselves with a cagey one dollar, Bob. Survey Says then saw the M. Night Shaym-Aliens grab the TOP TEN to help, the Cunning Stunts took eight points of there own, Trivial Knowledge grabbed six points, and Last Place Team nabbed four points.

With Trivial Knowledge gaining ground, and Last Place Team keeping the pace, Combo Breakdown proved all the more important not just on this night but for a potential all-time high score high for the Cunning Stunts. Eventually it would come down to the M. Night Shaym-Aliens and those Cunning Stunts, and though the Shaym-Aliens would get nine points for their effort, the Cunning Stunts would finish round two with an additional TWENTY POINTS, reaching the max breaker for Combo Breakdown!

This meant that the die needed to be on the side of the Cunning Stunts in  Tri-Pardo  to make this the highest score of the Ico Era and potentially any iteration of Trivia Club, and on this night wouldn't you know... the surprisingly heavy steel d20 was out of commission so a digital option was brought into play. And it was very kind to the teams taking part, with the first category rolled for eighteen points by the M. Night Shaym-Aliens! The second category was then rolled for nineteen points by Trivial Knowledge! And the third category was rolled for... TWENTY POINTS by the Cunning Stunts! With fifty-seven points now in play, anything was possible! Thanks, Saint of the third round and of Stage Voices, Don Pardo!

With so much on the line, it was the team that held the record for most points gained in the third round who ended shortening the gap on an all-time night for the Cunning Stunts. With FIFTY-SEVEN points gained were the M. Night Shaym-Aliens, only one off the fifty-eight that they had stashed away on their road to 2017 Christopher Hitchens Cup. Last Place Team grabbed thirty-nine points with a correct answer on the second and third question, while Trivial Knowledge notched thirty-eight points with a correct guess on the first and third questions. Wildly, on this Day of All Saints, it was the Cunning Stunts who gained the least in the third round, but as we've learned before... you don't have to sweep the third round to set a record... but it certainly helps! With a correct first and second question, the Stunts still gained thirty-seven points in Tri-Pardo.

This set the stage for the  Finale .

All. Saints.

All. Teams.

All. In.

All. Time.

One year, eight months, and fourteen days ago the Electric Mayhem scored 235 points, and since that night the format has shifted and the games have changed in ways both smaller and larger. On that record setting night the Electric Mayhem did not have the chance to compete against the Cunning Stunts, and on this night the Cunning Stunts didn't get the chance to compete against the Electric Mayhem. Like two ships passing in the night, those two. In fact the only team present at these two events is Trivial Knowledge! Fun fact! In Trivia Classic at CR#151, the Electric Mayhem scored 56 points, as compared to the Cunning Stunts' 49 points at CR#238. In Game Show Games, individual Combo points weren't tallied, and the Countdown was also a guessing game of diminish returns in early 2016. Soon after CR#151 the Game Show Games would begin changing, spreading the wealth, but the Electric Mayhem would gain 33 points in the second round on the night, while the Cunning Stunts gained 34 points on this night, with less points available in the Takedown but more to be won in the Breakdown! Ultimately, the biggest difference has been to Tri-Pardo but interestingly enough the result remained the same... if not the amount of points, the ability to gain more points in the future! At CR#151 the Electric Mayhem would get the first and third questions correct for thirty points, while the Cunning Stunts would get the first and second questions correct for thirty-seven points! The Icosahedron, introduced at CR#200, has made things even more unpredictable and made a record setting night for a High Score hing all the more on an added bit of luck, to go along with what you know and what you learn along the way.

As at CR#151, the 238th edition of Trivia Club at Cardinal Rule saw the runner-up team set a personal best score AND cross the bicentennial mark as a result. With the fourth highest score in the history of Cardinal Rule at this time, the night's runners-up with 213 points, the M. Night Shaym-Aliens!

Crossing the bicentennial mark for the fourth time, and now holding the All-Time High Score for the second time in the history of Trivia Club...

2-4-0!

With 240 points, now SIXTY-THREE time GOLDEN VHS Champs, thirty-six times at Cardinal Rule, an all-time mark every way around... the CUNNING STUNTS!
