C ardinal Rule not only brings together a familiar crowd, but a fun one as well, as teams compete to win the Golden VHS and anything... ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! On this past Wednesday, we were joined by Team Name and the M. Night Shaym-Aliens once again, and for the twenty-first straight week Last Place Team participated! This brings them past The Bastards twenty consecutive appearances at Lou Dawgs, as the most consecutive appearances all-time by a team at Trivia Club! Joining them were The Returning Champions, a first-time team (with a member of the Alex Tre-Bests along for the ride) and thus the twisted mirror image of the Last Place Team!

After the first round of Trivia Classic, it was the M. Night Shaym-Aliens back in first place with a three point lead on The Returning Champions! Three points behind second place were Team Name, who themselves had a one point lead on the Last Place Team. In fifth were The Rug Club, who would join us for the first two rounds but would be gone by Tri-Pardo.

Countdown Takedown, as has been the tradition for most of 2016, started off our Game Show Games! The Returning Champions gained the TOP TEN for their troubles, while the M. Night Shaym-Aliens slipped past Team Name for eight points, while their growing rivals gained six points!  The Rug Club took four points, while Last Place Team took the two good points. Then in Survey Says, it was Team Name with the TOP TEN answer, while the M. Night Shaym-Aliens grabbed eight points once again. Last Place Team recovered for six points, while The Returning Champions were able to nab four points. Combo Breakdown established a new high water mark in the game, when more then one team went more then ten rounds with a correct answer... Last Place Team and The Rug Club were the first teams to fall for four points each, while Team Name ended with nine points to their name, but it was The Returning Champions who tapped out at ten points, while the M. Night Shaym-Aliens were the first at Cardinal Rule to reach the new TWENTY POINT COMBO LIMIT as the Last Team Standing in epic fashion!

It was an impressive end to the round, yes indeed, but Tri-Pardo did not prove quite so kind... as the fifteen point question came back to bite not one but two teams, with the Last Place Team and the M. Night Shaym-Aliens each taking a hit for five points! Team Name righted their ship by gaining ten points, and coming within two of the Shaym-Aliens, but The Returning Champions followed up the second highest point haul of the Game Show Game round with an additional THIRTY points in Tr-Pardo! This put our newcomers The Returning Champions in the cat-bird seat, for the Finale, and they wagered quite well, putting thirty-five points on the line... just far enough out of reach of any other team if everyone go the last question correct, while also leaving them ample points if every team got the last question wrong.

On this night... every team was able to get the Finale correct! Which left Team Name as runners-up, with 100 points on the nose, while are GOLDEN VHS CHAMPIONS for the first time were THE RETURNING CHAMPIONS! Yes, now a twisted mirror view of the Last Place Team even more, the mostly first-time team had won their first VHS on their first night out! Well done!
