This past Wednesday at Farside proved as wildly competitive as always, with some of our most reliable participants taking part in the festivities, while also welcoming old friends, location regulars, and all new faces! All in the spirit of our first consecutive event, our thirty-seventh event at the Friendly Neighbourhood ‘side!

 Trivia Classic  came to an end with 2 Fast 2 Curious looking to win their second consecutive Golden VHS at their new regular location, and sweep their first ever month as well after consistently winning one Golden VHS a month at Farside since April! The Cunning Stunts were just one point behind however, making their third appearance in four events, and looking to break their Golden drought! In third place were Team Name, who were making just their second appearance at Farside after having competed at our premiere event at the Friendly Neighbourhood ‘side! Team Lithgow & Guests were returning for their fifth event, and were in fourth place, with a five point lead on the returning Not Bad Blokes! Half a point behind them were Written and Directed by Quiztan Tarantino, who themselves had a one point lead on “I Am The Quizzard King!”, and one point behind in this log jam of teams were alumni of the Stunts and friends of Team Name, The Foreign Debt! Rounding out the field, joining in mid-way through the first round, were A & R!

 Game Show Games  began with Countdown Takedown, which saw The Foreign Debt take the TOP TEN, while 2 Fast 2 Curious grabbed eight points, the Cunning Stunts nabbed six points, I Am The Quizzard King took four points, and A & R nabbed two points! Then in Survey Says, A & R once again grabbed two points, while Written and Directed by Quiztan Tarantino got on the board in round two with eight points, while The Foreign Debt got the TOP TEN! Unfortunately left pointless in round two were Team Name, Not Bad Blokes, and Team Lithgow & Guests!

 Tri-Pardo  then began with an eleven point roll by Team Name, followed by a sixteen point roll by A & R, and finished with a seventeen point roll by the Cunning Stunts! This meant that a nearly traditional forty-four points were on the line in round three! Hitting for the triple in the third round, and locking in those first through fourth spots were 2 Fast 2 Curious, Cunning Stunts, Team Name, and Written and Directed by Quiztan Tarantino! The Foreign Debt had now slipped down to fifth, but had gained twenty-eight points from the first and third categories, as did Team Lithgow & Guests! Picking up eleven points were A & R from the first category!

 Trivia Finale  wagering was strongly all-in with only half a point left behind by Team Lithgow & Guests to keep things interesting! If all teams answered incorrectly then it would be only the second time in the history of Trivia Club that a team had won by and with half a point! It was not to be as two teams did answer correctly! One of those teams would not be 2 Fast 2 Curious, who lost their 101 points that were on the line, thus keeping them from matching the Fighting Mongooses with their second 200+ point night of the year!

Finishing as runners-up were Team Name, who ended the night with 172 points on their second night at Farside, which also stood as a new personal best high score for the team on their 167th overall event! Winning on the night however, with 196 points, giving them their SIXTY-NINTH GOLDEN VHS… the CUNNING STUNTS! This ended the Golden VHS drought for Trivia Club’s winningest team, and not for lack of high scoring, but a drought that saw the Cunning Stunts go 484 days or almost 16 full months, since April 18th, 2018 in a Golden VCR battle against the Fighting Mongooses, without a win amongst admittedly more sporadic appearances.
