If that sounds like a weird 80s VHS... perfect. The name is in celebration of Farside by way of the sun glasses wearing skeleton on the first t-shirts sold through our east-end trivia location, and thus the Golden Skull is up for grabs!

The competition was out in full force as well, to the surprise of no one, with the Fighting Mongooses leading the field after the first round of  Trivia Classic . Just half a point behind them however were the Cunning Stunts! Yes, those returning Stunts were just a half point behind our reigning Golden VCR holders, and looking to add a third Grand Championship to their own chock full legacy! Four points off the lead in third were the M. Night Shaym-Aliens! Like the two teams ahead of them, they had already won a Grand Championship at Trivia Club, the Hitchens Cup, but they also had a reputation of their own of being the team to beat in Farside's first year, with six Golden VHS wins in one form or another, over nine appearances. On their tenth time out however, the Shaym-Aliens were without their Shaym-Ali-Ace in Shelby, who they had not one a VHS without since she joined the team! In fourth place, not far away from the Shaym-Aliens were Rooster Juice, while also making their Trivia Club debut in a big way were Find Us On MySpace in fifth! Just outside of the Top Five (top five, top five) by half a point, the returning Robb O. of Trusty Rumpet teams past, as part of 9 1/2 Weeks! They were followed by The DDTs, then Galaxy Fresh Foods and Hardware (comprised of some familiar production faces from The Rec Room!), while returning Golden VHS champs Brewers Yeast Infection rounded out the field, four points ahead of the team with no name!

This meant that the ten teams all had a stake in the Golden Skull, and more then half the field were also more then willing to simply win their first Golden VHS!  Game Show Games  began with Box Office Bullseye, with the selection process going to 9 1/2 Weeks! Robb and co. would win two points, as would The Team With No Name, while adding five points would be Rooster Juice, Galaxy Fresh Foods and Hardware, the Fighting Mongooses, and the M. Night Shaym-Aliens! The Galaxy folks would then follow things up with the TOP TEN in Survey Says, with MySpace getting eight points, Rooster Juice grabbing six points, and the Team With No Name got two points, while the ever elusive fourth place question stumped the six remaining teams! Countdown Takedown then gave the TOP TEN and the lead to Rooster Juice, heading into round three!

In our third round of  Tri-Pardo , thirty-two points were rolled across the three questions. The Fighting Mongooses rolled twelve on the first category, while Rooster Juice rolled five on the second category, and Find Us On MySpace rolled fifteen points for the third category! Half the field would hit the triple and gain the thirty-two available points in Tri-Pardo, with the Fighting Mongooses retaking the lead, but the M. Night Shaym-Aliens, Cunning Stunts, 9 1/2 Weeks, and Brewers Yeast Infection not far behind!

Even with an aggregate score possibility looming over the field, most all of the teams went all in, with only 9 1/2 Weeks proving conservative with their wagering. The most adversely affected by the  Trivia Finale , were the Fighting Mongooses who finished with 1 point in this first leg of the Search for the Gilded Skull! Brewers Yeast Infection wouldn't repeat as Champs, but they would finish ten points ahead of 9 1/2 Weeks with 110 points on the night, good for third! Runners-up on the night were the Cunning Stunts with 157 points, crossing the Sesquicentennial Mark for the 25th time!

Seven points ahead, even against a packed field, finishing the night with 164 points, winning their THIRTY-SECOND GOLDEN VHS... the M NIGHT SHAYM-ALIENS! Some combination of the team has now won the fifth, tenth, and twentieth events at Farside!

Congrats to the M. Night Shaym-Aliens, fittingly the team to beat in the first year of Trivia Club at Farside, in the overall lead to become Uncle Rubberknee's Head of Class! They also win the Linear Championship Belt from the Fighting Mongooses! Thank you to everyone who came out to Farside this past Wednesday as well, supporting Trivia Club and the Friendly Neighbourhood 'side of the street!
