 A t the halfway mark of our Grand Championship Grand Prix, three teams had a lead on the field, but with multiple nights still to come... the journey was far from over to see who could go home with the Golden VCR!

After Trivia Classic, the Electric Bastards had put themselves in the lead position with an impressive 50 points! Not far behind however were the Cunning Stunts, looking not only to protect their overall lead but also to potentially threepeat at Cardinal Rule! Looking of course to spoil both of these plans were Petit Pierre's Pre-Paid Podium-Pounding Political Proxies who were only half a point back on the Stunts after the first round. Three and a half points back on the Tiny Tim team taking that twice-tried theme, were the M Night Shaym-Aliens! The Shaym-Aliens were two and a half points ahead of Let's Get Quizzical by O'Trivia Newton John! In sixth were Team Name, followed by Lt. Dance's newest spin-off Sean Spicerub, newcomers Team Smack, and finally... living up to their moniker for the first time in months, Last Place Team in last place after the first round!

This crowded field was ready for action in round two, with our first Game Show Game, Countdown Takedown seeing Petit Pierre's Pre-Paid Podium-Pounding Political Proxies grabbing the first TOP TEN! Also getting on the board were the Electric Bastards, the M. Night Shaym-Aliens, the Cunning Stunts, and Sean Spicerub! Last Place Team would get the other TOP TEN in Survey Says, with Team Name, the Shaym-Aliens, and the Electric Bastards also getting on the board, but no team able to sign-off on the number four answer on the board for points! Finally in Combo Breakdown, it was a competitive field with a tough list to take control of, as the Electric Bastards got FOURTEEN POINTS when everything was said and done, as the last team standing! Ultimately all teams walked out of the second round with at least two points for their team, with the Bastards who are Electric grabbing twenty-four additional points!

Their impressive momentum was halted in Tri-Pardo however, as the Electric Bastards lost five points on the first question! The first question was indeed worth five points, a question named V (or FIVE) For... on our FIFTH ANNIVERSARY! You really can't plan it any better. Thanks Bianca of Last Place Team! The second question was worth thirteen points, and the third question was worth seventeen points! All teams either lost points on the third round of questions, or stood pat... all except for Last Place Team who got not only the first question correct, but the second question as well for an additional eighteen points that shot them into second place overall before the Finale question, two points ahead of Petit Pierre's... and a haaaalf point ahead of the M. Night Shaym-Aliens! Even with the loss of ground in Tri-Pardo, however, the Electric Bastards still held an impressive lead heading into the Finale!

With their lead, the Electric Bastards still went all-in on the Finale question, as did MOST teams, with Team Name deciding to be the only team to NOT wager any points! Though the Finale proved tricky, it would only trip up Petit Pierre and Let's Get Quizzical on this night, leaving the Cunning Stunts with an additional eighty-three points, but not the win for the first time in several events... and Last Place Team with ninety points after an impressive turn around! The winners on the night however...

THE ELECTRIC BASTARDS who win their first Golden VHS since the first annual Trivial Awards, on the second last event of 2016! The win, with one-hundred and thirty-eight points also bring them within thirty-five points of the Cunning Stunts in the lead position for the Golden VCR, with two if not THREE events still to go in this Grand Championship Grand Prix!
