It looked to be an incredibly notable night at The Rec Room Roundhouse no matter what, with The Bastards returning to Tuesday nights for the first time since the debut night of Trivia Club at The Rec Room, and the first time at Trivia Club since the final days of Cardinal Rule! The Bastards? Featuring PETE! like Trivia Club of Tuesdays past, in PETE!’s return to and good-bye from Trivia Club for the time being! They had returned for themselves, but it also happened to coincide with an historic run for The Questionables who were looking for an absolutely unheard of FIVEPEAT, some kind of wild mix of Five Timers Club and Threepeat, in a wing of the Hall of Trivia that is not yet built, yet alone unlocked, having been the first team to FOURPEAT without interruption last week! These historic Trivia Club participants would be joined on the night by teams both new, returning, and a mix of both!

 Trivia Classic  came to an end with The Bastards ft. PETE! in the lead, with a two and a half point advantage on newcomers 30 Flirty and Thriving! In a solid third place, six points off the lead were The Questionables, looking to add a thirteenth Golden VHS to their total! Two and a half points back from the reigning Champs were Smarty Pints, and rounding out the Top Five (top five top five) were the returning Varsity Clues, including Joel of the M. Night Shaym-Aliens! Tied for sixth place to round out the field were Shuttle Cocks and DT Crew!

 Game Show Games  in round two then saw Countdown Takedown prove tricky as The Questionables grabbed the TOP TEN when The Bastards ft. PETE! went juuuust over! Grabbing eight points in that first game were 30 Flirty and Thriving, followed by Smarty Pints who nabbed six points! Then in Survey Says, The Bastards ft. PETE! regained the lead with the TOP TEN, while Varsity Clues snuck a point ahead of Smarty Pints into third, after 30 Flirty and Thriving exited the game for the games floor of The Rec Room!

This meant that heading into  Tri-Pardo  a main competitor had exited, but the night was far from over especially with the variety of ways that The Questionables had won in their run thus far! DT Crew chose the first category and rolled a four, followed by Varsity Clues choosing the second category and rolling for fifteen, with finally the third category being chosen by Smarty Pints who capped off the round with an eighteen point roll! This meant that thirty-seven points were on the line, and hitting for that triple and more then doubling up before the Finale were The Bastards ft. PETE! Grabbing four points each were Varsity Clues and The Questionables, while Smarty Pints also added four points but lost fifteen points!

This meant that The Bastards ft. PETE! had actually gained enough of a lead to not have to wager in the  Trivia Finale … but because of the blind nature of wagering at Trivia Club, and the fact that you can’t bring these points home, they went all in! The Questionables stuck with the wager that won them their fourth in a row last week, and wagered all but one! Sensing they had to get creative, no doubt, Smarty Pints had learned from last week and wagered all but three and a half, while Varsity Clues left the most on the board by only wagering eight points!

Only one team would answer the Trivia Finale correctly, and that meant that the points left unwagered would lead Varsity Clues to finish as runners-up on the night, while Smart Pints finished in third, and The Questionables were an almost poetic fourth place as they saw their fourpeat come to an end. Their streak might be over but I wager those winning ways are far from finished. Speaking of four including Pete, though…

Winning their SECOND GOLDEN VHS at The Rec Room Roundhouse, and in their first appearance at the location since they won the inaugural event in September 2017… THE BASTARDS ft. PETE! Though Pat and Matt had indeed been victorious at The Rec Room Roundhouse in the time in between, and PETE! had played at Hitch with Generations of PETE!, we hadn’t seen Matt, Pat, Chris, and Peter... or The Bastards ft. PETE! since event number one! This was the THIRTY-EIGHTH GOLDEN VHS for the team overall, and they finished the night with a gross of points, a dozen dozen, 144 points!

Congrats once more, on a going away night for Peter, to The Bastards ft. PETE! Peter has gone down as the preeminent one person team in Trivia Club history up until this point, but it’s more fitting to see PETE! win once more with friends.
