Celebrating FIVE YEARS at Hitch, Trivia Club has grown and changed with its East End location and seen the landscape of teams shift along with Leslieville! It was only fitting that on our anniversary event this September we would see the return of an original face to coincide with Trivia Club mainstays, echoing from the first to the second and third and fourth annual editions of the only drinkable Grand Championship!

Leading after  Trivia Classic  were Matt & Pat as Kissy Boots (sooo good!), defending their Golden VHS from two weeks prior, and looking to improve on their best finish for a Hitchens Cup as runners-up under the Electric Bastards moniker in 2015! Maybe it was in homage to PETE! our first Hitchens Cup winner on his birthday, but every other team on the night was solo! Including the returning Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes, back for the first time since The Good Winter which saw him win four out of the five events on the East End before stepping back from Trivia Club! The Good Folks were seven points behind Kissy Boots, but just two points behind that Folk was The Fighting Mongoose! Our reigning Golden VCR Grand Champion was looking to make it two for two on the year, from the home base at Hitch! One point behind The Good Folks in third, and one point ahead of the Mongoose, was Chocolate Chip Wookiee Dough! Rounding out the Top Five (top five, top five) was the first our of our trio of newcomers, Can't Keep A Good Manitu Down, followed by The Not Withstanding Clause, the returning Golden VHS Champ The Sinking Ship, and rounding out the field a half point back from him was our third newcomer One Is Loneliest Number!

 Game Show Games  in round two saw the first TOP TEN of Countdown Takedown shared between The Not Withstanding Clause and Kissy Boots! Left without points however were The Good Folks from Laramie, as well as Can't Keep A Good Manitu Down and Wookiee Dough! Survey Says then saw The Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes make up for lost points with the TOP TEN, while Kissy Boots grabbed eight points, and the Fighting Mongooses get two points! Then in Combo Breakdown it came down to Kissy Boots and The Not Withstanding Clause, with Kissy Boots not only the last team standing but doubling up on their points for FOURTEEN and another near perfect second round!

With momentum on the side of Kissy Boots,  Tri-Pardo  then saw forty-eight points rolled in the third round, with thirteen of those points rolled by the Fighting Mongoose on the first question, fifteen points rolled by The Not Withstanding Clause on the second question, and TWENTY rolled by Can't Keep A Good Manitu Down on the third try for the third question! Though the first question was avoided by both The Good Folks and Kissy Boots, the two teams each gained thirty-five points on the next two questions to swing them further away from the competition! Also gaining points however and keeping within fighting distance were Fighting Mongoose Travis and The Not Withstanding Clause!

In the  Trivia Finale  on the night it then became a balance of expectations between this week and two weeks from now, wherein the Hitchens Cup Finale would see the two event's aggregate score deciding who would walk away with fifth edition of Hitch's annual prize! Feeling well rested The Good Folks from Laramie Cigarettes went all-in save for three points, while the Fighting Mongooses left only two points on the board! Though they had the twenty-eight point lead, Kissy Boots were also playing the long game and wagered only ten points balancing this week for the next!

Kissy Boots would have to wait for next Trivia Club at Hitch and Hitchens Cup Finale, as they finished in the runner-up spot on this night with 109 points! 19 points behind with 90 and also very much in the hunt for The Cup were The Fighting Mongooses... but the winners on this night after eight months away and now FIFTEEN-TIME GOLDEN VHS CHAMPS... THE GOOD FOLKS FROM LARAMIE CIGARETTES! Yes, as the leaves begin to change, will The Good Winter begin anew?!

Congrats once again to the returning Good Folks from Laramie, and thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated FIVE YEARS of Trivia Club at Hitch with us! We'll see you again in TWO WEEKS time on September 24th for the Hitchens Cup V Finale! The pace has been set but it is still anyone's game to answer correctly, so we welcome out even those that might have missed this past Monday at Hitch!
