I t was a reunion night of sorts at the Original Home of Trivia Club! It was unplanned, bringing the room together, but so was the fact that this was the Farewell Tour for the original Electric Mayhem! Yes, the team that was brought together when Kevin and Saad sat next to Jon and Casandra, and they decided to form a team that would go on to win 38 Golden VHS tapes over 87 appearances, making them the winngingest team in the history of Cardinal Rule's Trivia Club (though the Cunning Stunts and even David Bowie's Corporate Whores will no doubt look to take that mantle before it's all said and done, no one has yet to match the Electric Mayhem, especially stretched over the last five years)! Before we say good-bye for now, to the original form of the Mayhem Electric at least, let's see how the night went at Cardinal Rule!

Trivia Classic saw the Electric Mayhem take the lead on the field by an impressive eight and a half points, on a strong first nine questions and more methodical Trivia Royale! Last Place Team were still within a good shot however, in second, while the M. Night Shaym-Aliens returned for the first time in a few weeks and were only one and a half points behind in third. Three points behind them in fourth were Queen's End Puppy Snatchers, newcomers who really like dogs (enough that they will take them), and in fifth were another group of newcomers Know Clue! PETE! returned as well for some fun, and was half a point behind Know Clue in sixth. "Thank you for being a... supporter?" were the returning Lt. Dance duo to Cardinal Rule, taking another deep cut from Comedy Bang Bang, to round out the field!

Game Show Games gave us an almost unprecedented outcome off the top, with the top five teams all getting the answer right on, and thus FIVE TEAMS getting FIFTEEN POINTS in Combo Breakdown! This meant that though PETE! was only one away from the actual number, he was boxed out by the field! Survey Says then separated the field some more, with Last Place Team grabbing the TOP TEN with the first guess, and slipping into the lead in the process! The eight point answer stayed true on the board, through the M. Night Shaym-Aliens grabbing six, PETE! grabbing four points, and Know Clue grabbing two points, up until the Electric Mayhem with the final guess for a possible eight points... but it was not to be! The Mayhem Electric would round back for big points in an eventual head to head battle against Last Place Team! This would leave the Electric Mayhem with... seven points, while Last Place Team were last team placed with EIGHTEEN POINTS!

Tri-Pardo was a tightly contested battle with tough questions worth eighteen points for the first question, twelve points for the second question, and eighteen points for the third question! Six points were either lost or gained, or left off the board! With the two teams left without points after the Ico-rolled trio, PETE! gained eighteen points before losing eighteen, while the Electric Mayhem played it safe! Losing points on the second question but still gaining on the first question was Last Place Team, while the M. Night Shaym-Aliens gained on the third question but lost points on the second question! Finally, though Queen's End Puppy Snatchers and "Thank you for being a... supporter?" grabbed points on the second question, they both also lost points on the third question!

Finale ahead, all this said, Last Place Team grew their lead on the Electric Mayhem on their farewell tour... while the M. Night Shaym-Aliens brought themselves within four points of their brothers in trivia (also, in part, in life) the Electric Mayhem! Still, in knowing they were in the outside of the top three teams... the Shaym-Aliens wagered all of half a point! Last Place Team, with some room to breath, still left only three points on the board. Electric Mayhem, swinging for the fences as they have many times before, went all in on the Finale... while also having a chance to pick their own presented category for the last ride of the original quartet (plus Matt & Pat, which I had not noted, but really should)... but it was not to be! No, this was one of those instances were the question proved tricky enough that no team got it correct, which means that at the last moment the night's deciding factor shifted from knowledge to luck, as it is want to do!

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED: TWENTY-TIMERS CLUB!

This also meant that winning their TWENTIETH Golden VHS were the M. NIGHT SHAYM-ALIENS! Yes, the friendly possible rivals (it's in their blood) of the Electric Mayhem gave them a farewell to both remember and forget! The Shaym-Aliens now match Last Place Team with wins at Cardinal Rule with eleven, and also become just the sixth team to join the Twenty-Timers Club alongside those Electric Mayhem, as well as the Cunning Stunts, The Bastards, Trusty Rumpets, and Team Name!
