Minding the P’s & Q’s of SNL

QUALITY: With a highly likable host in Brie Larson, Saturday Night Live supported the recent Oscar winner with some strange and interesting sketches, giving the show only two notable down sketches in Game of Thrones (more boring, ironically, then anything) and Quiz Whiz 2018 (which was less a bad sketch, and more unexcited for it’s own concept), Larson proves she should be invited back any time!

PROBLEMATIC: Wait, there’s only two episodes left?! This has been the strangest season yet, internally. With the influx of participants we’re still finding out how Saturday Night Live Fantasy League works on a week-to-week basis. Between the inevitability of a NEW Hartman Trophy winner and FOUR new groups of participants the end of the year has snuck up on me. I’m not saying we’re going to do a MadTV Fantasy League (sorry Patrick), but I’m already excited for Season 42!

Yes, TWO episodes left and a lot of Group leaders have started to take control of their destiny! A lot of that momentum is thanks to strong Host picks! There is not one Group leader who haven’t been bolstered by at least 100 points, and some are where they are because of 200 or 300 points produced by non-Cast members! With only a limited amount of sketches to be done, the future belongs to the remaining Hosts and the points to be taken in by them! May 14^th, 2016 will be featuring Host AND Musical Guest (Season 41’s third) Drake! The 6 God was drafted by both Bill Brasky’s Drinking Buddies of the Farley Group, and two-time Hartman Trophy winners The Ignorant Sluts of the Hartman Group!

The finale was ALSO announced, with the choice of Host and Musical Guest making Miley Cyrus’s premiere delegation to START the season looking like a timely choice on it’s own merit. Enough of me being a jerk about it though, Fred Armisen will Host the Season 41 Finale with Musical Guest  Courtney Barnett (who sounds about excited about this as I am). The Late Night bandleader will be the fifth cast member to host this season. This will no doubt garner folks who picked Kristen Wiig to host a few points as well. I digress, because THREE people have chosen Fred to host! Effie Villalopolus' Professional Complainers of the Farley Group, The Night Crawlerz of the Belushi Group, and War Horse Can Dance of the Hartman Group! Bravo to all five teams that will pick up additional points, before the season’s end!
