Minding the P’s and Q’s of SNL
QUALITY: Though the ratings continue to go down to match the all-time lows of last season, Bill Hader was of course an apt host, bringing his best-of collection of reoccurring characters and sketch concepts that (maybe other then Stefon) hadn't been burnt out. I would even put him beyond Silverman so far, making my host rankings an inverse of the shows ratings.
PROBLEMATIC: The show has been very hot and cold on Pete Davidson over these first three shows, though a hot episode beside the guy that brought him to the dance wasn't a big surprise.

Pete Davidson KILLED it, this week! Bringing even more funny as himself, and proving more comfortable in sketches, even with his distinct voice, then other stand-ups in the past. And my, what a show we had this week with not only Bill Hader giving The Ignorant Sluts a boost into first place, but also the announcement of Jim Carrey as the next show in TWO WEEKS!
But that wasn't all, just because the reigning Phil Hartman Trophy winner is in first place once again, that wasn't just the only big moment of the week. Santa's My Boyfriend finally took the first place spot it was threatening to snatch up in the featured league. The featured league also saw the first points handed out for the impressions of a host, while those who drafted Kristen Wiig also got their own boost in points!
So once again we'll see you in two weeks when the biggest ever to get away from SNL, Jim Carrey, comes back to host for a third-time! For such a nostalgic filled season so far, think of this of not only a nod to the 90's and 00's but also to all those SNL killers over the years, from In Living Color to Mad TV to that over Saturday Night Live to yes, even Fridays. But back to Jim Carrey...
