It's Grand Championship season, as we celebrate TWO YEARS of Trivia Club at the flagship location of The Rec Room Roundhouse on our anniversary night and ninety-fifth event! First time teams joined our stalwart regulars to see who would win The Roundhouse Royale and become the newest Trivia Royalty at The Rec Room! They would join our 2017/2018 winners of the inaugural Royale Grand Championship, Not Turner! Not Turner were also notable for being the first Grand Championship team to win an annual event before they won their first Golden VHS!

 Trivia Classic  concluded with newcomers Hold Me Close Tiny Answer in the lead after round one, with a one and a half points on The Questionables! On their thirty-ninth appearance at The Rec Room, The Questionables were going for their second threepeat at the location which would be a first! One and a half points behind The Questionables were their rivals at The Rec Room, Cookiefaced! Cookiefaced, having made the second most appearances of any team at The Rec Room were also looking to be the first regulars to win the Grand Championship at The Rec Room! Three and a half points behind Cookiefaced however were our other familiar team at The Rec Room, *May or May Not Contain Multitudes! Otherwise known as Dead on the Inside, just behind Cookiefaced in appearances but just ahead of them as a member of the Five Timers Club! Before they finished the night early, just ahead of them by half a point would have been La Triviata but just behind *May or May Not Contain Multitudes were The Beautiful Bailed, rounding out the field!

 Game Show Games  then shifted the standings on the night with Countdown Takedown giving the TOP TEN answer to The Questionables, while Cookiefaced grabbed eight, and ultimately Hold Me Close Tiny Answer nabbed two points! In Survey Says, Tiny Answer grabbed another two points, while The Questionables were left pointless, and Cookiefaced shifted into first place with the TOP TEN!

This meant that  Tri-Pardo  could still shift the field, however, as Cookiefaced chose the first category and rolled for three points, before *May or May Not Contain Multitudes chose the second category and rolled for twelve points, while Hold Me Close Tiny Answer chose the third category and rolled for fourteen points! With twenty-nine points on the line, the standings did in fact shift! Getting all twenty-nine by answering all three Pardo questions correct were Cookiefaced, The Quetionables, and *May or May Not Contain Multitudes, which put our three regular teams against both Hold Me Close Tiny Answer and The Beautiful Bailed, who gained fifteen and twelve points respectively!

 Trivia Finale  wagering was then weighted not only towards winning on the night but also looking ahead to NEXT WEEK and the Grand Finale of this second annual Grand Championship at The Rec Room Roundhouse! The most left off the table was six and a half points by *May or May Not Contain Multitudes, while The Questionables chose not to wager half a point, and everyone else went all in! The Beautiful Bailed chose the Finale question… but they would be one of the teams unable to answer the last question correctly! In fact almost all the teams would answer the Finale incorrectly, as tied for fourth on the night with zero points were The Beautiful Bailed and Cookiefaced! Cookiefaced had in fact gone from 136 to zero on that Finale, unfortunately but an only slighter drop was the 122 point loss for The Questionables who finished in third with half a point! Runner-up on the night with 6.5 points were *May or May Not Contain Multitudes!

This meant that the GOLDEN VHS CHAMPIONS on the night were the only team to answer the last question correctly, as the team that had gone first to fourth had return to the top spot to end the night with 86 points… HOLD ME CLOSE TINY ANSWER! Now the unheralded new comers were not only the first new team to win at The Rec Room Roundhouse since our seventy-eighth event on May 14th, but they had done so at the most opportune of times and now had a near 80 point lead over the closest competitors!

Congrats once more to Hold Me Close Tiny Answer, and thank you to everyone who came to compete as always and to celebrate Trivia Club at The Rec Room! Celebration isn’t over yet as we’ll be back next week to wrap up The Roundhouse Royale to crown Trivia Royalty at The Rec Room! I should also remind everyone that last year’s inaugural winners of leg one of the Grand Championship held an eighty-three point lead after the first night… and the eventual Grand Champs were able to catch-up to them and surpass them on leg two! With everything Trivia Club, it isn’t over until after the Trivia Finale!
