Before going into the recap of the twentieth and final edition of Trivia Club at The Ace, I would be re-missed if I didn't first thank both the ownership and staff at our limited edition lo-fi late night location for all their support in this year in Roncesvalles. They were nothing short of amazing and supportive, a pleasure to spend the evening with on Wednesday.

Having made a home in the neighbourhood since 2012, it felt necessary to find a new home for our local legacy teams. So I'm glad that not only were we joined by the Unusual Suspects on our first night, and the team who were first known as Chillasaurus throughout, but also Trivial Knowledge in a winning effort to join the Five Timers Club, and the Cunning Stunts during the Grand Championship Grand Prix as well! The Fighting Mongooses made their mark on the west and won the Triple Crown, and Karen from Finance returned for a night as well. 

Of course The Simple Minds became the house team at The Ace, and will forever be remembered with the location for what they accomplished as members of the Five Timers Club in our first six months, while Last Place Team returned and took on a new name at a new home and in doing so set new standards at The Ace as the other multi-time winner at The Ace, 2 Fast 2 Curious, and will go down as the winningest team at The Ace after an unbeaten streak at the location that stretched from August to December!

 Trivia Classic  began with The Aceholes feat. Turd Ferguson, the team behind the bar joining in on the action while they had the chance, and holding a six and a half point lead on the field! In second after the first round were the Team at the Front! This team had a half point lead on the other two teams, both Russell Sprouts, otherwise known as Krang's Abs or Chillasaurus or Bill Murray's Receeding Hairline and a returning participant with a new teammate Free Palestine! Joining in at the end of Trivia Classic, but just in time to jump into the Trivia Royale, were the Undefeatable Cheat-ahs, who would have twenty-two points to catch up on first place!

 Game Show Games  would give the Undefeatable that chance with a Box Office Bulls-eye that would see the last possible team to enter trivia at The Ace grabbing five points, while the other team who would pick up points would be Free Palestine! The Undefeatable Cheat-ahs would pick up the TOP TEN in Survey Says as well, allowing them to fully catch up with the field below The Aceholes, who feat. Turd Ferguson would grab eight points, while the only team left pointless would be Russell Sprouts! They would certainly make up for it in Countdown Takedown however and nab the TOP TEN in Countdown Takedown with an on the nose number! 

 Tri-Pardo  would then see an enormous fifty-four points on the line, after The Aceholes, the Team at the Front, and the Undefeatable Cheat-ahs each rolled seventeen, nineteen, and eighteen points respectively! Making big steps forward were Free Palestine and the Undefeatable Cheat-ahs, with seventeen points each, while the Team at the Front would then lose thirty-seven points! The Aceholes would also answer the first question correctly, but lose points on the second question for a net loss of one point! Free Palestine would then be heading into the Finale with an eight point lead on their nearest competitors the unheralded Undefeatable Cheat-ahs!

The only team to hedge their bets would be Russell Sprouts, in the  Trivia Finale , with twenty points left behind, while everyone else went all-in! This meant that they had the best outside chance if everyone answered the final Finale incorrectly, but ultimately the twenty points would be best for the runner-up spot for the team that had finished as runners-up at the first event at The Ace in March 2018! Winning that Last Turn at The Ace, The River if you will, was the last team to enter the competition...

They had fought up from fifth after the first round, and would win their FIRST GOLDEN VHS... with 94 points... UNDEFEATABLE CHEAT-AHS!

Bravo once more to the Undefeatable, who will indeed end their run at The Ace Trivia Club undefeated, and thank you so much to not only the teams that came out to compete at The Ace, making it the most competitive night in a number of months, but also to all the teams that came out to play Trivia Club at The Ace! It was the warm, wonderful diner that we needed in 2018, into the new year, and to prepare Trivia Club for the bright future ahead!
