On a humid summer night in July, Trivia Club found a hot crowd at Farside this past Wednesday for the thirty-fifth edition of the Greatest Game Show in Toronto brought to you by the Friendly Neighborhood ‘side! It was a collection of long-time teams, first time faces, and a bar full of patrons who were not playing but certainly seemed to be enjoying themselves.

 Trivia Classic  came to an end with the Cunning Stunts in a strong stop in first place! Trivia Club’s winningest team, making their second consecutive appearance at Farside, had an eight point lead on the next two teams tied for the number two spot! 2 Fast 2 Curious who were looking for the threepeat victory at Farside, what would be their third location in which they won a threepeat, were all tied up with newcomers the wonderfully named Hungry Hungry Hippocampuses. Three points behind in fourth were the also well named (in a different way) newcomers Something about Paul Rudd lol! Running with Quizzors rounded out the Top Five (top five top five), with Sweaty Summer rounding out the field!

Our second round of  Game Show Games  then saw the Cunning Stunts grab the TOP TEN in Countdown Takedown, with a one dollar, Bob! That game move then led to a Survey Says that proved unpredictable, with Something about Paul Rudd lol getting the TOP TEN, while 2 Fast 2 Curious grabbed eight points, and ultimately the Cunning Stunts, who were still in first, and Hungry Hungry Hippocampuses, who found themselves falling to fourth place, were left pointless!

 Tri-Pardo  then began with an eighteen point roll by the Cunning Stunts for the first question, followed by another eighteen point roll by Running with Quizzors for the second question, and finally a thirteen point roll by Hungry Hungry Hippocampuses for the third question! This meant that forty-nine points were on the line in our third round! No team would hit for the triple, though Hungry Hungry Hippocampuses would jump into the number one spot with a thirty-one point swing from the second and third questions! Running with Quizzors would gain thirteen points, as would 2 Fast 2 Curious! Cunning Stunts would slip to fourth place by losing five points, with a correct third question but an incorrect first question! In second place before the Finale were Something about Paul Rudd lol who gained eighteen points from the first question!

This meant that in the  Trivia Finale , it was the newcomers with the advantage, with each of the first time teams taking a different angle on the wager! Hungry Hungry Hippocampuses would go all in save for a single point, while Something about Paul Rudd lol would wager ten points, and Running with Quizzors would wager seven points! 2 Fast 2 Curious would go all in, as would the Cunning Stunts! Of the five teams, two would answer incorrectly… 2 Fast 2 Curious, who would finish in fifth, and Something about Paul Rudd lol who would end their first Trivia Club with the third place spot, a point ahead of Running with Quizzors.

Runners-up on the night would be the Cunning Stunts, and they would have to continue to wait patiently for their sixty-ninth Golden VHS, because the night’s GOLDEN VHS CHAMPS, winning the First and Gold, on their first Trivia Club event… HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOCAMPUSES! The first time participants and winners, ended the night with 127 points at the Friendly Neighborhood ‘side!
