 W ho could have guessed the sponsorship fun that was to be had at Cardinal Rule?! Not only were we celebrating one year with Amsterdam Brewery as our location sponsor at the Original Home of Trivia Club, but we also were joined by the best darn candy place in Toronto, The Candy Bar! Also, Paramount Pictures new film Allied gave away some wonderful swag! Who would take it home, along with the Golden VHS?! We would have to wait and see!

After the first round, Trivia Classic, the returning Cunning Stunts had a four point lead on their nearest competition, the Returning Champions! Yes, those Returning Champions were looking for another (non-consecutive) Golden VHS, though nearby them, back just four and a half points were both the Last Place Team AND Team Name! Half a point behind in fifth were a mix of newcomers and returning participants A-Trivia Newton John, who themselves had a half point lead on the M. Night Shaym-Aliens! Rounding out the field were Trivial Knowledge, and another couple of newcomers in Snowball!

Game Show Games then saw Countdown Takedown start things off, with the Returning Champions grabbing the TOP TEN! The four other teams getting points in the first game were A-Trivia Newton John, Cunning Stunts, the Shaym-Aliens, and Last Place Team! Juuust missing out on points were Snowball! Then in Survey Says, it was Last Place Team with the TOP TEN! M. Night Shaym-Aliens grabbed six points, while the Returning Champions picked up two points! Trivial Knowledge were the only team not to pick up C-C-Combo Breakdown points, with the Breakdown coming down to the Cunning Stunts and Last Place Team... with SIXTEEN POINTS going to the Last Place Team!

Yes, it was a heavily competitive night and the Last Place Team had the lead, but Tri-Pardo meant that the night was far from over, and the Finale was still to come! Team Name picked up five points in Tri-Pardo, as did Trivial Knowledge, both teams getting clipped by an incorrect twenty point question! Snowball picked up fifteen points, while A-Trivia Newton John grabbed twenty-five points! FOUR teams hit for the triple, showing the knowledge of the collected crowd at Cardinal Rule! Yes, M. Night Shaym-Aliens, Cunning Stunts, Last Place Team, and the Returning Champions all added FORTY-FIVE POINTS! The Shaym-Aliens had the most ground to make up, and so was in fourth place heading into the Finale, while Last Place Team was in first! Only a single point was left between the Cunning Stunts and Returning Champions!

For the Finale, the Cunning Stunts left three and a half points on the board, while Last Place Team left eleven on the table... the Shaym-Aliens went all in, as did the Returning Champions!

When the dust settled on the Finale, Last Place Team had gotten the answer incorrect, which was the last thing that needed to happen for a ONE AND A HALF POINT victory for now THREE-TIME GOLDEN VHS CHAMPS, the former Alex Tre-Bests, and now THE RETURNING CHAMPIONS!
